ubetchaiam wrote a new diary post: Is there an Obama Admin failure compendium?
I sometime think that Obama is the ‘ Great Pretender’ deep inside. Or that could be wishful thinking on my part. A friend of mine who will be voting for him because he’s fearful of Romney (and please, let’s not go there, meaning the debate about who to vote for, etc.) sent me this list of ‘Obama’s [...]

So, there’ s no way to verify that the police are not corrupt and that he really did have all these injuries?

“..states are diverting the hard dollar funds from the settlement, money meant to go to help homeowners, to fill budget gaps..”
This is what happened to the Tobacco Settlement $$$ – the funds wound up being another cookie jar for the pols, or at least what was left after the whore lawyers got their cut.

National Popular Vote would give a voice to the minority party voters in each state. Now their votes are counted only for the candidate they did not vote for. Now they don’t matter to their candidate. The National Popular Vote bill would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in [...]

afterthought commented on the blog post Polling Shows Danger of Being on Wrong Side of Housing and Bank Accountability
As evidence that Americans do not want a leader to take a tougher stand against the banks I posit the following:
Obama won unopposed in the Democratic Primary.
The most pro-theft candidate won in the GOP primary, while the fellow with the most bona fides against the banks, Ron Paul, did not win any states (disputed).
I will tell exactly what Americans want: they want the abundance they have taken for granted all their lives to continue without much effort or sacrifice on their part. Thus, the biggest liar usually wins the election.
Obama was clearly the 2008 Liar-in-Chief with his Hope and Change ad campaign, next to McCain’s honest war lust. Romney is trying to coverup his hatred for average people, but he isn’t that good at it. Obama wins another term.

My mother was undecided between JFK and LBJ in ’60. When she saw FRank Sinatra in Kennedy’s corner, that made up her mind.

The presidential election system that we have today was not designed, anticipated, or favored by the Founding Fathers but, instead, is the product of decades of evolutionary change precipitated by the emergence of political parties and enactment by 48 states of winner-take-all laws, not mentioned, much less endorsed, in the Constitution. The Electoral College is [...]

Hollywood liberals COULD have a HUGE effect on national politics IF they wanted to.

Maybe Obama likes Scott Walker.

newcarguy commented on the blog post Why You Don’t Negotiate for Hostages
Well, I agree Clooney is doin’ good. But this Walker recall IS damned important and Obama and the DNC have been totally oblivious to it. If Obama can’t personally get involved, he could send Biden and any number of celebrities, like Clooney, to help out. A victory by the repuglicans here will be so disheartening to the 99%.

Why is this not, ya know, a crime, in-and-of itself? (Don’t tell me, let me guess: The idiots who put together this dogshit “settlement” either neglected, failed or refused to stipulate where the funds were supposed to go.)

I would agree. Clooney’s a great actor, and I think in George’s mind, he is doing the right thing, but Obama is just using Clooney’s starpower and his money.
Hollywood libs need to realise Obama is not FDR 2.0, more like Clinton 2.0, but without Clinton’s charisma and the sense of humor.

wendydavis commented on the diary post Black, Transgendered CeCe McDonald’s Second Degree Murder Case by wendydavis.
This murder in our county was an exception to that rule, and was prosecuted as the hate crime it was. But that was only because many outside groups came to town to shine lights on the hideous nature of the murder, as well as the underlying causes. Local journalists did interviews with the victims friends, which [...]

I dunno, ‘Guy…maybe he’s planning for a wedding, an early divorce, and didn’t get a good pre-nup. :o)
I like Clooney, he’s a good actor and his heart’s in the right place, but all of the Hollywood libs need to put some pressure on Obama, instead of falling in ranks for him like he was FDR.

I am not sure if they can. Their last presidential candidate only got .05% of the national vote(2008) BUT, they do have name recognition and donors. That can make a huge difference by itself. What they need are the votes of people who believe in what they stand for. I said this earlier in another [...]
