“Madam Felicity, when I was ten years old, I was handing out leaflets on the streets of Baghdad, putting them through people’s doors, to stop the British getting hold of our oil. I am not about to give up on Iraq now.” (Tareq Aziz in an interview, 1999.)

This speaks volumes. Our invasion of the sovereign nation of Iraq under false pretenses is nothing but an extension of British colonialism- a colonialist policy only checked by their defeat by the Germans in World War 2. Our problem with Iraq has always been about resources. The Americans are nothing but neo-colonialists bent on gaining unrestricted (read: un-taxed) access to world wide mineral wealth.
What we are doing to Aziz, is what we are doing to the entire country. What a shame.
