Once again we are being lied to. Once again we are faced with the disastrous environmental consequences of our insatiable desire for profit…..and the mass media is….wait for it…..silent. Are you aware of what has been going on in Southern Louisiana? Have you seen any information on the news about the sinkhole? About the pending death of the entire southern part of that great state? Hmmmm….WTF? Enenews has been following this terrifying story since the sinkhole was but a wee depression. I have been reading updates every day- and it makes me sick. Why is the government hiding this information from the people? Why? Perhaps it’s for the same reason that the true impact of the Fukushima disaster is being withheld: The truth is an affront to profit. These disasters need to be public knowledge- we need the truth in order to make informed decisions about how we want to live our lives. I cannot live like an ostrich with my head buried in the sand, or worse, living in some kind of twisted self-delusion,a panglossian nightmare, looking in the mirror and repeating over and over how we live in the best of all possible worlds, until my children become sick with radiation poisoning or succumb to some other modern capitalist disease. I haven’t posted here for a while, my life being ravaged by unemployment and having to deal with the realities of trying to educate my autistic son within the narrow confines of what we call our public education system. But I felt that this story needed to be told- If not by somebody else- then by me. This needs to be shared. People need to know what is going on, what is is being wrought upon this earth in the shallow name of profit.

Hi Wendy! Alas I seem to have become even more jaded than I believed possible. Which is really a bitch for a non-practicing Buddhist- Haha (what is the sound of one gum flapping?) It feels like the more crazy/shitty things become, the less people want to hear about it, and by extension,the less they are willing to DO about it. But our lot is to live in these most interesting times.

I have been disgusted by the TV spots BP has been running, showing beaches full of people lying in the sun with pristine sea water washing onto the shore. And this week headlines say BP faces criminal charges for the spill in 2010. Guaranteed the media will elide over this.

I knew nothing about this sinkhole issue till you posted it. Thank yo for letting everyone here know about it.
I was pleased to see that the issue of nuke plant safety is actually part of the mix of the new movie “Cloud Atlas.” The novelist who put together the book that the movie is based on – he is married to a Japanese woman, so maybe that is why he is very concerned about the future and the nuclear industry.
I think that the “Mainstream Media” is useless, and that much of what we are told by them is a lie. For instance, I believe that probably 8% of us, at least, voted for someone other than a “D” or an “R” but the votes were flipped away from that third party candidate to one of the two main lizard party candidates.

You can check out his videos on the right, he had two tabs for the Sink Hole, one is videos of flyovers etc, and the other one is the Town Hall Meetings….which is interesting because there are 0 governmental officials at these meetings.
I think there’s a theme running through this universe right now and I believe it’s strummin’ on the ole heart chords about self empowerment. I also think these disasters are planned and allowed to happen….because as you surely not above, nothing is being “done” to either prevent destruction or awareness…however, you’re there doing that awareness part, now you can take a deep sigh of understanding and know all of it, all of it, comes from the same source….
