Just for the sheer joy of watching one of the best performances by a Democrat (other than the President) that I’ve seen in a long time, I present Debbie Wasserman Schultz as she vanquishes Brian Bilbray on nationally televised Hardball. Congratulation to Debbie for her presence of mind, her poise and preparation, and her sheer chutzpah in presenting her case for the stimulus jobs, jobs, jobs plan. She pulled no punches and took no prisoners. More like this, please!

Oh, this is good!
Thanks Ann. Rec’d!
Thanks Ann.
digg is open
Wasserman-Shultz sounds smart and looks pleasant. Bilbray sounds angry and looks hostile. He is incoherent, while she is consistent and forthright. More from W-S please.
Bilbray…former K Street lobbyist for the drug-dealing boss of the deadly “weight loss” dietary supplement Metabolife (the boss was an ex-meth dealer who used the precursor of his diet supplement pseudephedrine…to manufacture meth). In an earlier election that “dealer” pressured his employees to launder contributions into Bilbrays campaign. Bilbray also represented the virulent anti-immigrant group FAIR.
I’d say that Bilbray sits in a highly precarious position right now. He ran for Duke Cunninghams’s vacated seat in 2007, and scraped by with the help of auto-mall, real estate and defense contractor money in 2008. That money has likely dried up (of course it could swing back if Obama actually does improve the economy by 2010).
Good points! He is as dirty as they get! See Bradblog.com for info on the election fraud that put him in office.
Spectacular.
DWS gets better every time she appears on teevee.
More, please!
He’s also lying. He supported the extension of the tax-cuts for the wealthy Although the original cuts were not made when he was in Congress…he still supported them even after it was realized that it was running up the deficit, perhaps even worse since the original argument was that the cuts would generate even more tax revenue through economic growth. It didn’t. All it did was create a “Tulip Economy”. And by 2007 it was obvious.
And Bilbray was lobbying for these very groups on K Street when he was out of Congress.
And Bilbray wasn’t “running as a Democrat” then…now he says that he was running against Bush! And his fellow Republicans that spent a trillion without generating revenue.
She is sharp.
I loved it when Bilbray responded to Chris that he wasn’t whipped to vote no by the Minority Leader John Boehner or the Rethug Whip, Eric Cantor, and Debbie responded, “No, you didn’t have to be whipped; you were already there!” They are definitely going to get labeled “the party of ‘No!’”
I’ve seen Debbie do this before and have a great deal of personal respect for her. She’s generally great as long as you stay off the subject of Israel. It’s a case of when she’s good, she’s very, very good; but when she’s bad, she’s awful. But I give her a lot of leeway even there, because not only is that her own heritage, but she also represents an area that is loaded with Jewish retirees, so she is supposed to stand up for their best interests. So she’s great in my book.
