I can’t say why this thought popped into my brain today, but it did, and then when I clicked on My FDL, there was Ruth talking about canning or preserving. So I guess you could just go with my flow on this, and while I am not suggesting canning yer kittehs, I think preserving them might be a good idea.
I was able to grab Mr. Sadness a couple of times this week, and I got to do some real petting and snuggling with him. On the one hand, this is heaven, for me. On the other, I worry that his illness is getting his guard down. He seems to be in the mood to trust me a little, but I am concerned that it is a dangerous change of his behavior that indicates a problem. His mouth is chronically difficult, but for the most part he continues to look healthy, at least for a cat with stomatitis.
I still see just the 2 kittens over at the feral colony, and I can’t really determine who might be their mother. I still see just the usual cats there, except for the kittens, who are at least 3 months old. They look healthy, and “kittens are dumb and go right into the trap,” so it won’t be long before they are fixed and back.
I don’t have much else. There were cat videos on TV this week, cat cams. People were quite surprised to find out what their kittehs were actually up to while the people were gone. One woman learned that her cat actually had a second home. Others found their cats engaging in dangerous behaviors, in culverts, under houses and over vales. Oh, and hunting and killing.
What’s up with the kittehs in your world? Putting up with that? Yeah, me too.

Good Morning, Barbara
At PUAC yesterday morning, Margaret said she’s do a cat post. Guess you didn’t see that.
Dueling cat posts? Way worse things have happened here. Maybe she saw that you posted one and will save hers for next week.
With that, I might have a Picky Picture to post here. Let’s try it.

That’s the Picky’s Room I created outside last summer. But, the photo is from this year. Picky’s the boss, let’s face it. The dog hates that and fights it, but he knows the truth. Sad, but true.
Okay!
I’ll put up two squirrels and a moose and I call you! :>)
Yeah, I have been talking to Ruth about putting dead things in jars.
But cats never crossed my mind.
Thanks for the idea, but I’ll pass on this apparent gourmet delicacy.
Disgusting!
Thanks, Barbara, it’s in the sterilizing. Okay, no one’s ever known me to let a sleeping metaphor lie. No, not lay, one of my most unfavorite pieces of bad grammar.
As doremus has said, these images of kitties in jars are … jarring. But all attention is good, if it makes us aware when otherwise we wouldn’t be.
Okay, Peg’s post is up too.
Never too much fun. And, Picky’s on the worldwideweb twice.
He’s very happy about that. (yeah, like he gives a hoot.)
Wow Ruth! Way to go!
The thought of laying a sleeping metaphor has never crossed my mind.
But, you know it does appear initially to have merit.
Problem is it’s a felony in Mississippi!
Back to the drawing boards!
No audible chuckles yet?
*snort*
Waking up the metaphors fist is recommended, in all the best manuals.
Anything you fell on in Mississippi could be a problem. Got shots?
I probably should get a flickr account up and post these but here’s a FB link to my Dan’l getting his morning drink of water (direct from the faucet of course)
Oops! Didn’t mean to compete with you this week bgrothus. Guess we should exchange emails in order to coordinate. Now, I wonder who knows both of ours around here?
Maybe the all knowing and Kindest of All, Suzanne could help?
Here are a few on flickr I just uploaded
Great suggestion. I’ll ask Suze next time I see her around.

Nice to see your audible chuckle is up and running.
And my vast epochs of experience have taught me never, let me repeat, never arouse a sleeping metaphor.
Why? They have a nasty habit of awaking and looking like a family member.
Of course, that would then be a simile and no one in their right mind would even think of violating a simile.
FWIW: I would never insult my metaphors by falling on anything in Mississippi.
And you can be sure I would dip my whole body in boiling water if I ever visited Mississippi.
Which brings us full circle to canning.
FWIW Part Deux: What does a metaphors’ fist look like? Now that must definitely be a capital crime in Alabama!
(singing) Daniel, your brother…he is older than you.
Got you in the palm of his paw too, I see. Thanks, Dakine.
Handsome man. You, boat a’ yaz.
No problem.
Mind reading has been ruled illegal on this site and punishable by banishment to the Huffington Post: An intellectual fate worse than death itself.
Hey, did anyone see a cat around here?
There’s never a cat around when you really need one! :>)
There’s the Kuroneko picture of the week.
Neko hiding in fresh laundry…and pissed at me peeking!
Love at first sight!
Great felinus!
Thanks
Doh. Cats are everywhere in the diaries!
Put ‘em up, pull ‘em up, however you like it! Smorgasbord ‘o kittehs, in jars or in the laundry. Mixing metaphors, mixing ourselves up with too many kits, cats, sacks and wives. Oh dear!
I have been out at my favorite event of the year and will post some photos shortly. After a while.
Cross posting at Pull Up/Margaret.
Hi, bg…flipping back and forth now…TWO kitteh posts today!
demi – love the Picky pix, finally! His room is much bigger than I imagined it. A lovely gray fellow, hmmm? He certainly seems at home, there on the table.
Um, this article about the dangers of flame retardants in furniture turns out to have a kitteh connection:
I believe the subject of strange kitteh diseases and environmental contaminants/chemicals has been raised here at Caturday before, so thought y’all might be interested.
