Apparently there isn’t a “Democrat” with the gravatas to tell Barack Obama that he is the problem, and that his negotiating technique/style undermines his “stated” policy goals. Only Obama can end these reoccuring political crisises by leading. The Republicans KNOW, as do I, that Obama will cave to their demands. So their seemingly undefensible irrational unpopular policy demands are completely logical because Obama will legitimize their insanity by capitulating. This insanity only ends if Obama demostrates character and fights back but there lies the problem. Obama has no character beyound his own re-election, campaign donors, and Reagan Trickle-Down economic philosophy. The fact that we are debating budget cuts during “The Great Recession” is Hoovarian.

Please stop propagating the myth that any of the Democrats actually care about their “stated policy goals”. The whole party is as much a part of the problem as the Republican party. Democrats just play the role of “good cop” keeping enough people within the system to keep it moving on.

I am one of the others.
I don’t propagate that myth. I try never to reference the “Democratic” Party or “Democrats” without quotes. The “Democratic” Party is a walking corpse without a heart or soul. Progressives need to do whatever it takes to defeat every “Democrat” in Washington. Actually we need to remove every “Democrat” and Republican in Washington but I’m willing to sacrifice first by destroying the “Democratic” Party. Until we break the corrupt hold these corporate politicians have on America, we are doomed to failure politically, economically, and militarily. Don’t waste your vote by voting for a independent or Green candidate, it just keeps the corporations in power. We must destroy the illusion of American elections. We are no better than Iran, their religious leaders choose the acceptable candidates, our corporations and rich choose our acceptable candidates. In both countries, the people suffer at the feet of the elite. They send there young off to war for 70 virgins and the illusion of Islam, we send our young off to war for “Exxon’s et al” right to drill oil and the illusion of Democracy. Time to end the illusions or at least the “Democratic” Party’s role in our national illusion.
We have the truth – they have the power. Can’t deny that. It’s going to take a long time and a lot of hardship to turn this around.

The Democratic Party is the Fascist bulwark against the left. Those who would oppose the Fascists will abandon the Democrats. If they stay behind it will be for sabotage.
Obama? He just wants a place among the rich white men. He worked hard for it. Fuck him.
America needs a Labor Party. What’s left of organized labor in this country should prioritize starting a new party — one whose platform is 100% pro-worker. Rub some populism on it, and it could be viable. I think it’s what the people are hungry for.
Organized labor has to do something very soon, or they will cease to exist. I’m proud to be a union member. Given the current political climate and policies, my union might not be around in 5-10 years.
Time for a viable, new third party!
