UPDATE: Occupy New Haven voluntarily disassembled most of their camp. But police have moved in at 8:00 a.m. eastern this morning, to make arrests and clear out the remaining tents. Check out the livestream below.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled against Occupy New Haven in their request to remain on the New Haven Green. According to our liaison Richard N., some protesters are planning some civil disobedience actions this afternoon, when they expect to be evicted. We’ll continue to update you as we hear news from the ground. Watch the livestream of the eviction here.

Please keep us posted with up to date news on this post. I was born in New Haven, and am sorry it doesn’t seem I’ll get to visit the camp before it is gone.
Hello Kit… yes it is practically a clean sweep. When I left the Green at 6:30 pm the wood pallets that provided the foundations for the tents were stacked and waiting to be placed in the dumpster. Nearly all tents have been disassembled and church and social service cars were taking some of the people without a place to go to shelters. The final curtain falls early AM on Wednesday.
This is sad. What I enjoyed about Occupy New Haven was it was a really genuine use of a ‘town green’ in the way they were meant to be used.
New Haven was an important outpost directly in the shadow of Skull & Bones and the nobels. Thank you to the young people who sacrificed their time and comfort attemping to teach the comfortably numb.
