I don’t know how he got himself into this bind, but Rocky Anderson needs 103,000 Californians to register for the Justice Party by January 2 in order to appear on the 2012 Presidential ballot. For those serious about voting for a progressive alternative to Obama, Rocky is the man! More information here:

This is EXTREMELY important! The Justice Party needs a lot of voters registered with them by Jan 1 – so do it if you’re in CA and get friends and family in CA to do it, too. I sent an email out to all of my friends in CA asking them to switch, and I easily got a few to do so.
Parties have gotten this done in the past. In the 70s, I think, the Peace and Freedom Party registered well over 50,000 voters in just a few days to meet the deadline. They’re a feminist socialist party, so they have much less of an appeal than Anderson’s populist Justice Party, so this CAN be done.
I hope more people see this. It needs to stay in the top ten a while.
Recommended!
I will change my registration from Dumocrat to Justice Party this week.
Similar situation in Ohio, I think. Can`t find the diary, but somebody posted a day or so ago that the Green Party was asking for help with Jill Stein`s campaign b/c Ohio *changed the date for their Presidential primary* http://www.greenpartywatch.org/ , apparently to scrape off third-party candidates. Oh that Ohio, they are *so* creative!

Thank you for contacting your political people; I’m in the process of doing so as well. It’s an awfully tight deadline, but let’s see if we can make it.
Me, too. Thanks to you and AID for your comments.
Well, Ohio is the state of Ken Blackwell, after all :(
Not just political people – friends and family. They need TONS of people registered to vote, there’s no reason to hold back – and tell them to tell their friends and family, too!
Yeah, I donated $5 to them to help with that. Ballot access laws in the US are disgusting. They’re one part of a convoluted legal/electoral system designed piece by piece to stop legitimate competition.
You’re right, although I’ve discovered that it’s usually just politicals who can be motivated to DO stuff, and not them always, either. Still, time is absurdly short, so I’ll try non-political friends as well.
