This will be a short diary.
Anyone who signed off on the torture memos has no business or standing to sit on a court -ANY COURT- and dictate what is an what isn’t constitutional. Jay Bybee, who signed off on waterboarding, stress positions, slamming people’s heads into walls, and a host of other disgusting and un-American behaviors either does not understand the consitution or does not care to.
As Greenwald notes, we are signatories to various international treaties concerning torture, and as Article VI of our consitution dictates "[A]ll Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land."
jay Bybee willingly broke the law. And not just any law: he deliberately and consciously tap-danced around his basic constitutional obligations. One need not be a lawyer to see that is is so.
Jay Bybee is a disgrace to his profession, a disgrace to America, and a disgrace to humanity.
He needs to be impeached and removed from the bench NOW.
call your representative in Congress and tell them to begin proceedings to impeach Bybee.

Absolutely.
check out my other diary jim, it’s disgusting: a fluff piece with jay going on and on about rule of law, the constitution, and old testament justice.
I agree. But what about our so-called Attorney General and our President? Haven’t they now “signed off on waterboarding, stress positions, slamming people’s heads into walls, and a host of other disgusting and un-American behaviors”?
I’m so disgusted that I’d scream, only I might not be able to stop.
Old Testament justice is kinda like the O/T concept of marriage (between one man and as many women as he can afford). That is, smite everybody on technicalities.
some legal scholars (with Rehnquist’s endorsement) write:
How To Remove A Federal Judge . . .without impeachment
legal eagles have at it :D
