As we enter the busiest travel season of the year, there is no question that the TSA will be stepping up security measures across the country — including the use of the infamous ‘porno scanners’ and ‘enhanced’ patdowns.
Many of you will be enduring security checkpoints at airports over the next couple of weeks, so we wanted to remind everyone to download a free copy of our Know Your Passenger Rights flier before you travel. Click here to download the flier [pdf].
The Thanksgiving travel season came and went without incident from the TSA’s new, invasive security procedures, and as a result, the media frenzy surrounding it all but died. But that doesn’t change the fact that these ‘porno scanners’ are a dangerous experiment, soaking up millions of dollars in stimulus money in return for little-to-no evidence that they actually make us any safer from terrorist attacks.
What’s worse is that the TSA has gone to such lengths to protect these investments that they are using invasive, ‘enhanced’ patdowns to coerce people into going through the scanners. They are literally forcing travelers to choose between having a naked picture snapped of them or, in the words of the pilots union, to undergo ‘sexual molestation.’ Some choice, huh?
Anyway, now that we’ve made you even more excited to travel during the holidays, be sure to download copies of our flier for your friends and family! We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday, and if you have an encounter to report, be sure to do so at http://TSAComplaint.com.

The TSA will wait to crack down until after the holidaze to avoid the major blowback.
Just wondering whether this TSA thing will affect airline business?
Will in discourage people from flying? Do the airlines have any stated position on these new TSA activities?
Just guessing, but becuz the airline biz rarely makes $$, they can’t afford to buy pols. Plus, they’ve been bailed out so often, they’re used to bending over & taking it in the rear.
My wife and I were going to fly to Canada for Christmas, but decided to take a driving vacation instead. The decision was entirely because of the molestation.
I am absolutely dreading traveling to China after christmas. Afte getting radiation thrown on me and molested I just want to get to my destination please.
I keep wondering at what point people are going to start caring about their freedom again. The TSA searches are clear violations of the fourth amendment, as is any random or universal search. I pretty much don’t fly anymore, largely because I find the disregard for my freedom infuriating.
And as for the whole terrorism thing, the biggest problem with the planes has already been solved. They put heavy locked doors on the cockpits.
“Will in discourage people from flying? Do the airlines have any stated position on these new TSA activities?”
Most of those who can afford to, make other arrangements. They were the icing the airlines depended on to make a profit. I am not an accountant, but, after years of reviewing quarterly/yearly reports, I wonder if “profits”, as you and I would consider it, in a cash flow business are not really what interests managers.
The CEO of British Airways, about a month ago, complained that security theatre was driving away business. Other CEOs took up the cry. I have heard nothing since, assuming they all got placated somehow (extra bonus, special handling, etc.)
You really should check your data. If you start with an opinion based if fear you’re likely to be wrong. And you pretty much are.
What I wonder is how much the airlines contribute to the protection of their property. Is the entire load carried by citizen taxpayers?
@ anarchistictendencies: I’ll bet you don’t believe in traffic signals, either. When you put up a ruckus at an airport I wonder if your fellow passengers see you as a hero or a threat? Screening is not for you, it’s for the people your traveling with. Have some respect.
Say Wendell, your put down of anarchistictendencies might sway other authoritarian lovers if it were coherent.
Agree with eCAHNomics – they’ll definitely wait until after “the busiest travel time of the year” before rolling out most of the porno scanners. Anecdotal evidence suggests that MANY of the machines are still sitting idle and roped off, right now. Don’t put up with this unconstitutional garbage! Boycott Flying ENTIRELY until sanity returns!
