While the Health Care Industry has increased cash-flow to all political parties in 2009, the Blue Dogs are at the top of the heap, according to a brief story just out by Lindsay Mayer at Open Secrets:
Health and accident insurers, HMOs and health services increased their contributions to Blue Dogs by at least 15 percent between the first and second quarter of this year (from $106,200 to $122,650), but by 3 percent to non-Blue Dog House Democrats.
Based on Open Secrets’ data compliation so far, Blue Dogs are raking in Health Industry cash at a clip about 30% higher than their Democratic Party colleagues, on average ($4,401 to 3,085 respectively). Republicans were in the middle (speaking only in financial terms) at $3,820.
Considering the billions of dollars of Health Industry profits that are currently at stake in the debate, the purchase of Blue Dog Caucus members is clearly a bargain.
Rahm should suggest that they raise their rates.
