Alrighty then -
a short diary on what to look for today
The Good . . .
Rockefeller Amendment 187–establishes a public option that is tied to Medicare plus 5% rates with the ability to negotiate drug prices, and has an "opt-out" provider network.
Wyden Amendment 248–ensures affordable access to health insurance exchange plans for all Americans. This basically would open up the public option to all Americans in addition to private plans in the exchange instead of the current firewall of uninsured Americans and small businesses.
Rockefeller Amendment 185–creates one national exchange, and strikes state exchanges and regional exchanges
The Bad . . .
Snowe Amendment 356–puts a trigger on the public option.
The Ugly . . .
ALL REPUBLICAN AMENDMENTS to block the public option, create co-operatives, or reduce affordability credits for Americans

Playoffs !
Friday a.m. Baucus just announced that the public option amendments will not be brought up until Tuesday (Monday is a holiday). They plan to develop a procedural agreement on the sequence in which public option and related amendments will be considered.
thanks Scarecrow
just heard rumblings about that as well – damn!
Baucus is just giving the Republicans time to figure out their stratagy on how to kill it. The Senate is not the most deliberative body, it is the most useless body, filled with the most useless people, and will give us the most useless bills and Government it can. It is filled with old farts that think they run the world, in both parties. So how we can expect anything good to come out of the Senate, is really questionable. We forget that these people have caused every problem this Country has, including the present crisises, and not fixed one problem. Yet we are looking to them to fix our Healthcare system. It is like betting on a dead horse.
