With Obama calmly announcing that seniors may not get their Social Security checks. Geithner saying that a default would lead to economic chaos. And McConnell deciding to fold. We now have a situation where the economic situation sounds more like a high stakes Las Vegas card game. And now Bachmann insists on Obama showing his hand and accuses him and the dems of playing with a marked deck. Obama of course just wants to continue the game.
But can he win with a busted flush ?

Could you elaborate on what you mean by “a busted flush?”
I’d say the whole country has a busted flush, even the people who think they’re profiting by reckless financial policies and corporate control of Washington. To me, Obama’s hand doesn’t look any worse.
Busted Flush – poker – A potential flush which ultimately was not filled.
Busted Flush – idiom – Anything which ends up worthless despite great potential.
In other words a hand that will essentially is worthless. Trying to fix the economy with a Milton Friedman Hand.
Perhaps a real crisis would be more appropriate to the current situation than the current insanity.
Ah, poker, a favorite game of mine; would love to play Obama.
I suspect Obama follows Pappy Maverick’s line: “”You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all the time and those aren’t bad odds!”

Could be. I like and have always liked the idea of closing tax loop holes like the post below suggests.
Whats the point in raising taxes on people who get away with paying nothing in the first place ?
