That’s right boys and girls. Reagan was more responsible for increasing the countries debt than anyone who came after. Bad actor and worse president.
Update:
And John Stewart wonders what’s the problem with the GOP ?
Well there is an old saying from AA. “If you have a problem and you can’t solve the problem. There is a very good chance that you are the problem.” As Stewart points out the problem is NOT with the GOP candidates, but with those who pick and elect them.

Statistics are funny aren’t they?
Your graph depicts the ‘% change’ in the national debt, not the increase in real dollars.
When Reagan took office our national debt stood at $900 Billion. True, he added $1.8 Trillion to the debt, or 186% points.
But;
Considering that when G.W. Bush took office, the debt stood at $5.727 Trillion, the 86% under his watch amounted to $4.122 Trillion, or over twice the damage in absolute terms compared to Reagan.

Here’s my favorite graph as long as we’re looking at pictures.

It depicts the monumental growth of the debt, as taxes on the rich go down, and taxes on the poor go up.
I’ve got a better question: who is going to DECREASE the debt?
Agree. Statistic can be used to mislead.
I have made the mistake in the past of assigning debt and deficits in presidential term. Each president should be judged based on the conditions(deficits) upon inauguration and the policies (fiscal, trade, military, political, judicial, and monetary) that his administration and appointments enact. For example I didn’t hold Obama responsible for the Wars and GWB tax cuts until he continued the Wars and extended the GWB tax cuts. Obama’s trade and fiscal policies have made him just as responsible for our current economy as GWB and Clinton.
Middle class and poor Americans by decreased SSI, Medicare, and Medicaid.
It is hard to see how he’s helped any, that’s for sure.
The saddest thing is that he so thoroughly sqandered the biggest opportunity that we’re likely to have for quite a while.
Not to mention our nation’s moral.
Who woulda thunk that????
Not to quibble hoss, but others would make mincemeat of this.
Morale.
Your comment and thots deserve good spelling as they are always solid.
Don’t give the ‘morans’ an opening, just sayin . . .
We’ll lose those things but expanded defense and foreign occupations will continue to be escalated.
Sucks, don’t it . . . I sure ain’t happy about it all.

Reagan was still a disaster of epic proportions of which future historians will marvel. Kind of like Commodus.
