I may be missing something, but has anyone seen John McCain in the last few days? His website lists no appearances before the next debate, and he has been singularly absent on my TV and the web.
Is he:
- Preparing for the debate?
- Getting an ethics transplant?
- In the hospital?
- Learning to talk "hockey mom," since that works for Sarah?
Any info would be welcome before we send out an APB. The MSM doesn’t seem to miss him.

s?According to Kos, he’s “resting” today.
He needed it. When he did a “town hall” at CSU-Pueblo Friday morning, he spoke for 25 minutes to 3500 people and answered 4 questions from 3 veterans planted in the front row and one softball question from a high school student, then abruptly left. He appeared very flat, lifeless, and exhausted against the background of screeching supporters who came from around the state. He muffed and had to repeat many words and phrases. Many Dems were there as well, hoping to ask questions, but he took only a few from veterans wearing McCain paraphernalia, then left. See the picture on Saturday’s chieftain.com, front page — not a smile in the crowd.
It was totally different from Obama’s appearance on Sept. 15, when 14,000 wildly enthusiastic supporters swarmed the fairground grandstands and after a series of energetic speeches from the Governor, Sen. Salazar, Federico Pena, Obama came on strong, blew people away with his spirit, energy, clearly set forth ideas, and “this is all about You” dynamism. They must have signed up thousands of campaign workers that day.
If he they both show up in similar modes at the debate Tuesday, it’s over for McCain, consequence of inertia.
I just checked out the chieftain.com and there is a picture of a bunch of old guys under the title ‘Quest for Water’. I’m thinking John is the second from the left. Your thoughts.
