My cousin Matthew turned my on to Zappa. He also turned me on to MAD magazine. he was a bad influence.

In 1972 I was 19 and I saw Frank Z at the Spectrum in Phila on the same bill was Capt Beefheart and the Mahavusnu O with John McLauglin; saw the Beach Boys at the Spectrum in Phila (remember Sail on sailor?)bought a Head hands and feet album..
When I was 15 I had several Sam and Dave albums and a Carla Thomas album w/Otis Redding
MAD was great …great times and great artists…
My friend [no relation] Mike Moore, the Hectic Eclectic, earned his doctorate at the University of South Florida, with his thesis written on the music, art, and words of Frank Zappa. USF is a pretty cool school.
