  Ditto. Challenging Obama in the primary would be a great thing to do, it will highlight issues others would rather ignore, and ultimately a primary challenge from you will be helpful to him. Make him do it!

    I do hope that one of the issues Dennis supports is reproductive rights. I was very disturbed by the PBS NOW program this week entitled “Democrats and the New Politics of Abortion.” I was raised Catholic but have abandoned the church because of its medieval stance on so-called “life issues.” I know that Firedoglake is supportive of women’s reproductive rights – I hope that Dennis will wholeheartedly stand with pro-choice women. I am 60 and am VERY frustrated with this women’s rights battle!

    Went out hitting hard on Ohio blogs for you this last week. Along with contacting Code Pinkers, Green America and several other progressive organizations for you. Not even a hesitation when you ask folks to support and vote for Rep Kucinich.

    Over and over again I hear from progressive organizers and voters that your stand and votes on issues in the middle east, Gaza, Goldstone Report, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, health care, education, etc etc reflect the values more clearly and consistently than any other Rep.

    Thanks for all you do. Glad you won. You deserve the recognition.

    way way back during the dem primaries i made a comment as to why are so called US progressives not supporting kucinich and was dismissed with the notion that he does not have a chance – excuse me, of course he did not and never will have if that is what “progressivism’ (whatever that means) amounts to in the US who are so afraid to award themselves a moniker that reflects history and preserves the integrity of language rather than resorting to the rightwing meme of orwellian twists

  I kept running into the same thing… ‘Dennis Kucinich was too short, too vegan, too honest about UFOs etc, etc …. He was the only person running for President who has a life time and a proven record of always staying true to the principles of peace, fairness and honest love for his fellow men/women/little furry bunnies/black/white/christian/muslim/pagan/the world etc, etc…I would have loved to have seen a Kucinich/Paul ticket.. Yes, there are differences between them/us. It would have caused a riot among many groups, but we have wanted to go in a more positive direction as a country and as human beings since before the sixties. And when finally we have a real chance, we play/abide by the same old rules/BS and let them/everyone tell us we are being silly about getting any sort of change and, anyway someone under 5ft 10in (regardless of how qualified) is too short to be the ‘Leader of the USA as it wouldn’t look so good in a ‘News photo/op..

    Dennis, you are what a politician should be and I thank you for all you’ve done. I think another step you could take is to call for a ‘Progressive March on Washington’. You, your fellow Ohio Congressperson Marcy Kaptur and Alan Grayson could lead the way and bring Progressives together to show their strength and provide a sensible alternative to the Tea-baggers on the national stage. I hope I don’t seem ungrateful, it’s just that Progressives need leaders to provide a little glue to our movement.
