I was retrieving a video clip of Tim Robbins to post on Firedoglake and happened upon something really funny.
AP stealing footage and putting it on its website.
Here’s Tim Robbins during his marathon day trying to vote. Ooops, video no longer available. Wonder why? It was uploaded by AP, on their official AP site!!!….
But it appears on the ‘search page’–see that little ‘TMZ’ in the upper right-hand corner?
Oh my, seems they swooped it from TMZ.com, a gossip site. AP, who recently made new constrictive rules for use of its property, and is now charging for any use of its property, felt it was just fine to ‘borrow’ video from someone else.
Here’s the clip.
Makes it more funny that it was about Tim Robbins, wonder if he knows?
Shame Shame AP. Hope TMZ charged you for it.

The ‘it appears’ link doesn’t give the direct page I referenced–sneaky, AP…
On the page it does give, enter ‘tim robbins vote’ into the youtube search to get the archive page they wont us copy.

There’s another link. Funny, the YouTube plays and you see AP in lower left corner, and TMZ in upper right.

they say it’s tmz’s, but put their logo on it, too. and pulled two other copies of it.
i took a picture of your link’s screen before they yank it, too.
looked at the archived page and the AP logo is on there….thanks, i hadn’t noticed that!

How about me answering you? We weren’t ‘attacking’ you , we wanted to know what your old name at FDL is, we thought people weren’t allowed to ‘Sock Puppet’ here.It is a normal thing when someone is not using their name to question it. Happens pretty often. The Mods say it all of the time, one name to a customer. We thought we were witness to a violation of the rules here. And were upset about it.
You evaded and used the phrase ‘EW knows me’as a way to get out of answering it. When we know you are Kathleen and we thought you were being a ‘Sock Puppet’ by using another name, which is not allowed.
Questioning whether a policy is being violated is not ‘attacking’.
Attacking us for questioning something you know you are doing, is, Kathleen.
Next time, we’ll just handle it differently.
