Hardball on Friday, April 17th provided some hard-to-swallow numbers for the No-Tax Republican Teabaggers.
America without Texas?
April 17: A Hardball panel talks about whether Texas could actually secede from the Union.
Wish everyone would watch this clip—at least the part from 4:45-on.
People/Republicans keep saying ‘we don’t want government money, blah blah, all the handouts, blah blah, pork, earmarks, blah blah’…
But look at the numbers.
From tax foundation.org aired on Hardball Friday, April 17th.
Statistics from Tax Foundation’s link are from 1981-2005.
Highest taxes paid and least amount of money back from the government per capita states-
all blue states.
(not in order)
CA
NV
CO
MN
IL
NY
NH
CT
NJ
DE
Highest tax recipients and least amount of tax money paid per capita states-
8/10 are red states.
(in order)
NM
MS
AK
LA
WV
ND
AL
SD
KY
VA
If you are in a hurry, go to 4:45-is Tom Delay lying about the numbers then the maps showing he and his crowd as liars comes right after that. Discussing the numbers is a Texas Rep (leaving his name out on purpose) who keeps repeating teabagging diatribe instead of addressing the tax numbers that ‘neuter’ their teabagging arguments, so to speak. He also is one of the new talking Republican heads that are using Progressive catch-phrases like ‘tipping point.’ Originality, I guess they still think that stealing phrases is a smarter tack than inventing your own. If I were them, I would steal them, too; the use of ‘Teabagging’ was certainly a bad choice as a campaign idea to draw their fold closer together. (Enter your own ‘quip’ here.)
This federal dollars per capita information makes laughing stock of their mainstay platform to attract a wider spectrum of voters- the ‘too much government spending’ meme. They are spending less and getting more. Kind of puts a hole the size of Jindal’s Louisiana into the argument about too much pork and not taking government funds. The ‘Daddy Party’-do as I say not as I do. Yet another example of Republicans yanking their own rug right out from under their own feet. No platform that appeals to a wide audience left to stand on now.
‘Fiscally responsible’ is our game,
backdoor money is our fame.
Watch the birdie.
I hope it goes viral.
How can it not? They are a party of self-negating prophecies, slogans and dictums–Gay Larry Craig is anti-gay and anti-tax Republican states take the most tax money per capita.
Beautiful.
(Just found this-CrooksAndLiars also has the video and a post about it.)
