Ron Paul – Texan Vote’m: After kicking the tires, this voter is “All In”

PROLOGUE

Quite simply, we are going to have some fun exposing the “Con Job” that our American elections have become. Together we are going to make common sense out of the deliberate confusion that the 2 major political parties and major media have created around previous elections. By the end of our conversation, you should realize that you should simply cast your vote in accordance with your own “best interests”. Hopefully, you will realize that this is less my endorsement of Ron Paul than it is your very own endorsement of Ron Paul. And we will accomplish all of this in 12 fun and easily understood sections:

1) “All In”?;
2) Prologue;

2) “ALL IN”?

In the card game, Texas Hold’em, “all in” refers to betting the last of your chips/money. http://bit.ly/w5ukXM “All in” is most often invoked by a player who has been on a losing streak and has depleted most of their resources. When a good hand has finally been dealt and the odds indicate it is likely winner the player declares “All In” and bets all of their remaining chips.

This scenario seems to be an apt analogy for the situation we voters find ourselves in this 2012 election. But before I continue with that analogy, let’s talk a little bit about Donald Trump.

3) DONALD TRUMP’s ENDORSEMENT

Recently I heard that Donald Trump was endorsing Mitt Romney. And I thought to myself, so what? Donald Trump is most likely going to endorse a candidate that embraces the concerns of millionaires and reality show executives. I am neither a millionaire nor a reality show executive. So, why do I care who Donald Trump endorses? Donald Trump, as far as I am concerned, you and your endorsement are fired!

But for some reason, the major media considers Donald Trump’s endorsement newsworthy. Perhaps the major media thinks this next presidential election should be like a Junior High Student Council election – A simple popularity contest with few consequences for choosing poorly? I don’t share that perspective.

And then I thought; perhaps the major media and the political parties have framed and confused the elections in such a way that the candidate a person should select to vote for is not obvious. Perhaps the average American is not aware that the propaganda techniques of Edward Bernays are being used upon them to subvert their individual will? (I often advise my fellow citizens that they can’t protect themselves, their perspective of reality nor their family from our Government if they don’t know about Edward Bernays http://bit.ly/nY9BjW)

Along those lines, my thoughts go to those frazzled rank and file Americans who are busy raising their families and earning money to pay taxes.

Further, I am concerned for the newest voters who may not know the “ins and outs” of “kicking the tires” on their first presidential election.

And I am also concerned for our more Seasoned Citizens that dutifully contributed to Social Security and other programs but were lied to by the politicians who frittered away the funds that were supposed to be in the lockbox.

…I personally believe if our fiscal problems can’t be solved without cutting benefits to those already retired and retiring within 10 years, all congresspersons who voted yes on budgets which included SS and Medicare taxes in the general fund should be charged with fraud and/or treason and forfeit all of their retirement benefits to fund the now unfunded Social Security and Medicare Liabilities.”

I feel a duty to sort out the deliberate confusion of this election for my fellow rank and file citizens who may be unaware, frazzled and worn out. I will start out by telling them that the endorsement of Mitt Romney by Donald Trump should mean nothing to them.

A spineless flip-flopper who does not care if he is seen as embracing racism or sexism or theocracy as long as he thinks it might get him some votes at any particular time and place.

Someone who follows the self-contradictory teachings of a monumental hypocrite who in turn idolized a psychopathic dismemberer of little girls because that psychopath created his own reality.

And so Paul is supposed to be “different” from the rest of the current crop of <1% offerings… exactly how?

Hint: he ain't. He just serves his purpose as one of several safety valves in the workings of the oligarchy. As do you. And you most probably don't even know it.

Now you may proceed to shriek on cue about the wars (foreign wars that is) and civil rights (for white males, that is) and the feds (so Paul can replace them with an even more <1% friendly gold standard) and all the other talking points that are so carefully arranged to hide what Ron Paul is… an opportunistic asshole.

What a waste of white space. Your rant is unhinged best and you compare yourself to people like Thomas Paine? It’s your privilege to vote for whomever you wish of course but I see two problems: Ron Paul isn’t going to be the Republican nominee. Ron Paul isn’t going to run as an independent. Now if it’s worth it to you to write in a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, bigoted, Randian asshole for president, by all means please do so but save your condescension for people who are as disjointed and incoherent as yourself.

The establishment has left us no choice if we want to oppose the ongoing wars and the new probable war on Iran.

I don’t support Ron Paul’s policy proposals, particuarly re. the environment and healthcare, but I will vote for him as a protest against the NDAA and the march to another war for oil in Iran. I will also vote for him in solidarity with the efforts of the Paul campaign to educate the public and keep an anti-war message in the public discourse.

It’s primarily a symbolic gesture, but the Democratic Party and the political establishment gave us no other avenue to express our dissent electorally. Our best bet is vote for the guy that the entire corporate plutocracy wants to silence, and hope the elites are listening.

1) The diary is full of useless links, foreign language symbols and looks like shit.
2) The tags at the bottom have busticated the margins, a real fools effort in these days of the internet.
3) The content is loathsome, full of distorted untruths and lacks a bare minimum of reality as to be recognizable as readable.

This one should be pulled for layout and content, if ever one was ever pulled from the pages of My/FDL.

So you give Obama more justification to move towards the “right” i.e. towards the <1%. As if he'd need it. But that's how the elites will publicly interpret any real movement by the populace towards Paul's mishmash of opportunistic pandering.

No. Paul lost any claim to be able to carry a message from the American people when he sold out to the racists and the theocrats in order to get GOP votes. He became a tool of the <1%.

And as for voting for Paul to "get the elites to listen" and to "stop the war?" Non sequitur. They are already listening. They just don't give a damn. And while war with Iran would be very bad for the 99% in the U.S. it would get worse if Paul were to be elected… as he has said that he will implement policies that are even worse than that for the U.S.

Voting for Paul as an "alternative" in order to "get the elites to listen" is a no-win situation. You see, he doesn't believe in reality either. And that's what makes him a perfect foil for the <1%.

I hate to see the number of young people-I know not if this OP is one of their number-who so enthusiastically embrace Paul. Thi despite the ample evidence of his unworthiness to hold any public office, let alone the highest in the land. At best, this type of attitude reflects ignorance, at worst, a profound callousness that is very hard for me to stomach.
