The Crazy Woman of the North tweeted Saturday afternoon:
Not sure I can convince Sen. Lincoln to vote no – but will do everything in my pwr to convince my friends in Arkansas to vote against her.
Delusional is too mild a word to describe the province in the state of nuttiness from which the CW’s tweets generally emanate. The only thing certain about her tweets, from my Alaska blogger’s point of view is that they are the only written words attributed to her that are genuinely hers.
What Jane Hamsher achieved in the weeks leading up to Saturday’s vote, in helping enforce what might normally have been considered to be the job of the U.S. Senate whip, should be considered historic.
What Palin shows in her short tweet is the shallowness of her understanding of what may or may not have been going through Sen. Lincoln’s calculating mind these past few days.
Her open threat of "do[ing] everything in my pwr to convince my friends in Arkansas to vote against her" is just the latest example of Palin driving her magical mystery tour bus over every fucking body that she imagines to be getting in her way.
Getting in her way toward "what?" is the question.

This woman was one of the three bloggers who were promoting Sarah a year before the rest of us heard her name. Although, she is annoyed with her right now, she does appear to be connecting Sarah with 2010.

“Like a friend who is associated with the GOP told me Friday evening, if Sarah Palin is associating with Beck, he will destroy her.
Glenn Beck continues to hint at plans that include the complete destruction of the GOP and (he stupidly thinks) the Dems. If he continues with his megalomaniacal plans, he will completely destroy the 2010 elections and make Nancy Pelosi Speaker for life. It will literally be the end of the world as we know it. We know Beck is in it for the money and the power. ”

Politics is about fighting battles you can win. Blanche has been opposing Healthcare since day 1 Sarah but have you seen her poll numbers no GOP love for her despite everything she has done.
Moving to the Right has not gotten Blanche any GOP friends and now that Jane is targeting her Dem support Blanche is realizing that..that the GOP anin’t ever going to love her!
And her neglected Man back home is looking to divorce her!
My bold Hmmm? Institutionalized, Drug Induced Psychosis, Cognitive Dissonance, Catatonic, Crazy Homeless Person Yelling in the Street? Oh wait Republican!
IOKIYACWR – It’s OK if you’re a Crazy Woman Republican
A cat fight with Jane? If this keeps up?
Jane is a mother lion fighting for her young…her instincts are on alert and she is going for the kill. Keep doing everything we can do to back her up. The justice fire is on in Jane and it is not wavering.
Joe the Plumber is against Sarah Running the Huffpost title said yesterday (I admit I didn’t read it) Sarah’s Facebook supposedly got flamed with comments ( again I didn’t check) people booed her for being 6 hours late in Indiana lows for the week were 37 degrees that I checked some in the crowd brought kids.
Kids waiting in normal weather want food and bathroom breaks never mind missing their favorite tv shows so I can understand why Sarah was booed. Sarah of course blames Liberal Blogger Plants this from the lady who palls around with Joe the Plumber.
I’m thinking Sarah’s bad luck is a little to much I think the Corporate GOP has decided to take her down.
Sniff Sob! I can’t believe the GOP didn’t ask us to join in flaming her Facebook page!
Palin gave out 1,000 wristbands. That meant that the proud owners of her book got her autograph on it. After many were out in the cold and rain for many hours, she quit when there were 300 families still waiting for their book to be signed. Very few supporters showed up in the comments. I brought over one comment that was lol right on target..

ET “The only thing certain about her tweets, from my Alaska blogger’s point of view is that they are the only written words attributed to her that are genuinely hers.”
Classic line. Would love to hear Chris Matthews or someone pick up on this. Maybe Jane could say it when she is on Rachel’s or Keith’s . The only thing we can be sure that Sarah has written are her tweets.
Thank you, ET. That’s really lovely.
We also appreciate your attempt to interpret Palin-ese, which frankly confounds non-natives: “Let me see if I can convince someone to do something they’ve already pledged to do by telling people to vote against them.”
The poetry of the original is certainly more haunting, but the internal logic must be losing something in translation.
like many of her tweets, it goes better with bongos and a couple of stiff drinks.
What is with Blanche Lincoln trying to have it both ways. Her site says she supports PO.

“Well, that’s good, because yesterday Fox did it again when “news” reporter Gregg Jarrett noted that Sarah Palin is “continuing to draw huge crowds while she’s promoting her brand new book.”
“Take a look at — these are some of the pictures just coming in to us,” Jarrett told viewers as they rolled footage of Palin speaking at campaign rallies from last year’s 2008 Presidential race. (See video above right.)”

I like jumping up and down yelling “we won” as much as anyone, but you can’t say about Sarah Palin that “delusional is too mild a word to describe the province in the state of nuttiness from which the CW’s tweets generally emanate” while ignoring what Sen. Blanche Lincoln very explicitly said on the Senate floor yesterday before voting in favor of moving the Senate forward in beginning debate.
While reality is being ignored, I wrote a diary yesterday in which I quoted Lincoln as saying on the Senate floor:
And I wrote:
So celebrate prematurely all you want, but the flipping fight to save the public option is far from over. Lincoln said that she’s going to block any vote on a public option and dared us to do something about it. So far, it looks like all we’re going to do is congratulate ourselves because there will be a start to debate on the Senate floor.
Today, in response to a comment by SouthernDragon, I wrote:
And in a response to a comment by masaccio, I wrote:
Anyway, now that Sen. Lincoln has deigned to allow her colleagues to debate health care reform while explicitly stating on the Senate floor that she ultimately will not allow them to vote on any bill unless they decide what she wants them to decide (i.e. to kill the public option one way or another), I guess this is a great time to start celebrating our win.
it is the “delusional” factor that scares the shit out of me. Some Americans voted for 43
The only celebrating, if one can call it that, I see is that the motion to proceed passed. There were no guarantees. That was only the first step in what just may be a knock-down, drag-out on the Senate floor well into next year.
If you have ideas on how to neutralize Sen Lincoln I’m certainly open.
[self moderating as my suggestion would likely get me ...]
heh great minds…
Let me put it this way:
Yesterday, Lincoln voted in favor of allowing debate to start. But if she later votes against cloture, votes against the Senate having an up-or-down vote on a public option exactly as she said very clearly yesterday that she intends to do, then who won: Jane Hamsher or Sarah Palin?
Answer: Sarah Palin.
There were two different things that Lincoln did yesterday, and we must focus on the right one. First, she clearly and most explicitly said on the Senate floor that she ultimately will not allow her Senate colleagues to vote on any bill unless they decide what she wants them to decide (i.e. to kill the public option one way or another). Second, she voted in favor of allowing the debate to begin, but only to begin.
Is it really enough to win an early battle and then walk away from the fight so that we end up losing the war?
No. We have to focus on what she did first, clearly stating on the Senate floor that she will filibuster a public option.
I think that, whether Lincoln does or does not ultimately betray the Democratic Caucus, Democrats everywhere, and Arkansans, we still need to start the fight now so that we are positioned well to lead the fight against her in the primary.
I’ve suggested several times that Firedoglake start now to make it clear that we’re going to do exactly what Jane said we’re going to do if Lincoln filibusters a public option.
The first time I suggested it was yesterday around 5pm eastern:
Seems to me that most of the components to start sounding the alarm and drawing the line in the sand are already in place.
Sound the alarm now. Raise money now. Start getting resources in place now.
I’m telling you, this fight is far from over.
I truly wish I was as good at reading Blanche Lincoln’s mind and future intent as are you, Knoxville. I can’t see what you’re describing as a “win” for Palin, though. I agree the fight is far from over.
I’m not reading her mind. She said it explicitly on the Senate floor:
Please take a look at my diary from yesterday. There’s a link @ 16 above.
If the Dems in the Senate don’t remove the public option and Lincoln does what she said yesterday on the Senate floor she’ll do – “I have already alerted the Leader, and I am promising my colleagues that I am prepared to vote against moving to the next stage of consideration as long as a government-run public option is included” – then she will kill the public option and we certainly will not have won.
I did. You do good work. Gotta go to a concert….
What, you think we just fell off the turnip truck and aren’t paying attention to what she said?
What makes you think any plan to challenge Lincoln is over? Lincoln has a couple more chances to mount a filibuster of this bill and one to amend it to her liking. This thing about Palin and Lincoln was about the motion to proceed because we needed her vote right now, not some time down the line.
Don’t you think it would be smart for the folks in Arkansas to mount some sort of campaign to influence their Senator’s votes? What did we spend on the ad campaign? A hundred grand or more? How much more time, energy and money to we have to expend to get her constituents to do something?
There are other conservative Dems in the Senate who can bilge this bill. What do we do about Short Ride? He’s made the same statement.
What happens if we started a campaign in AR right this minute, assuming we had the money, and she votes for the bill? The odds are huge that she won’t but the odds of winning the FL Lotto are roughly 14M to 1 yet people hit it all the time.
I’m beginning to wonder what this obsession with Lincoln is all about.
Short Ride’s position today.
What makes me think that you’re not paying attention to what Lincoln said yesterday or planning any challenge to her explicitly threatening to kill the public option is Jane writing this before Lincoln even voted to allow the Senate to start debate: “Well she talked a good game, but in the end, Blanche Lincoln blinked.”
No, she didn’t blink at all. Nor is it “the end.” All Lincoln did was vote in favor of allowing debate to start on the Senate floor while at the same time stressing that she will not vote in favor of allowing an up-or-down vote on a public option.
What makes me think that you’re not paying attention to what Lincoln said yesterday or planning any challenge to her explicitly threatening to kill the public option is you writing this today: “We have absolutely no leverage on Short Ride and short of more ads and such against Lincoln we have little leverage on her.”
I seem to be the only one who’s noticed or thinks that what she said is something worth focusing on.
I can’t read your minds. If you aren’t acting or telling us what you’re going to do, then it looks like no one’s doing or planning anything.
I’m not pulling anything out of my ass. Maybe you forget, but Jane already started to raise funds in order to put organizers in Arkansas (over $20,000 already raised).
That’s great!
All I’m saying is why not use Lincoln’s words on the Senate floor yesterday to renew the fight, to follow through with an action that was already started, but which has apparently already been forgotten.
As you point out, Lieberman is not up for reelection until 2012. There’s very little we can do about him from here. Reid and others will have to take care of him.
But Jane already started to do something about Lincoln, and it seems like Lincoln’s threat yesterday should be front-and-center, should very much be heeded, and should very much be used to start gathering resources now, precisely so that we don’t make the mistake Planned Parenthood and NARAL made by ignoring Stupak’s announcment last July, only to be caught looking mighty stupid when the House voted on the Stupak Amendment and fucking passed it.
Anyway, I’ll just assume that you’re more on the inside here than I am (which must be true, as I’m as far outside whatever inner circle there may be here as any random person who just stops by), and accept that you know that FDL will do something other than just sit by quietly, wait for Lincoln to fuck over HCR even more than it’s already been fucked over, and eventually use her betrayal to support Halter as a primary challenger.
Ya know, I don’t do circular arguments and that’s what I see you doing. You’re going to have to find somebody else to play with. xin loi
WTF? Why not try thinking about what I’m saying? It’s really simple. Sorry you’re not getting it. By all means, return to your [I'll just moderate myself].
Blanch already promised to vote against the final product. Pay attention.
Pay attention? That’s the lame response? Saying it on the Senate floor yesterday before casting her vote in favor of allowing debate to start, i.e. saying on the Senate floor that she’ll vote in favor of allowing debate to start but will vote against allowing debate to move to an up-or-down vote unless the public option is killed one way or another, is a clear line in the sand, which is exactly the way she phrased it – as a threat that should not be ignored.
I am paying attention. I’m paying attention to the FDL community so far having no more response than “happy, happy, joy, joy: what a win for us that she’s not filibustering the start of debate.”
Wake up.
We agree Knox, relax. I’m not happy about Blanche. She has to go. If you actually read my response above it states, “she has already promised to vote AGAINST the final product. I don’t need to wake up, I am well aware of the Senator from WellPointe’s position. She will single handedly derail healthcare reform.
At best, Lincoln will vote to allow an up-or-down vote for a bill that includes a public option but still cast her vote against hcr if it includes a public option.
That’s more than enough to start planning and raising money now, which would accomplish 2 things:
First, if done publicly, it would pressure her to back off trying to remove the public option from the Senate bill and would pressure her to vote to allow an up-or-down vote for a bill that includes a public option.
And, second, it would mean having organization and resources already in place when the fight does start.
We all know that Lincoln will either be partly responsible for getting the public option removed or for putting a trigger on it, or that she’ll either block an up-or-down vote for a bill that includes a public option or, if she doesn’t block it, still vote against any Senate hcr bill that includes a public option.
There’s no way that there will be an outcome that leads to anything but a primary challenger having a great chance to defeat her.
I’m not saying to start a campaign in AR right this minute.
I’m saying that all the groundwork and preparation for an inevitable campaign in AR should be started now…
unless the idea of working to help a primary challenger isn’t on the table under any circumstances, in which case, forget it.
You guy’s are assuming Her tweets are from Her personally, she didn’t write Her own book did She.
I doubt She has it in Her to blog, post, or tweet, and Is probably paying to tweet for Her.
ET has known her personally for years They are from the same hometown also the tweets I’ve seen seem to conform to her speech patterns and logical processes…such as they are.
Don’t forget ET’s blog. He was an outstanding source on what was happening in Alaska throughout the campaign.
I do check in every once in a while there.
Twitter & Palin: made for each other.
She certainly does her own tweets, if nothing else.
In the past, when the number of tweets she emits exceeds five per hour, especially in the middle of the night, it is a sign she is about to do something more irrational than usual, if you can imagine that. I did a post on this last summer. I’ll see if I can find it……
Here it is, i54.
How does someone get paid for tweeting for Palin?
By the hour? by the tweet? by the responses?
Boggles the mind even to consider it.
(recommended)
The consensus among Alaska bloggers is that Palin does her own tweets, if none of her other writings.
lambertstrether just left the following comment at my diary, but it seems more relevant to the discussion here:
First, I agree that this bill is far from perfect, but Jane’s right that a public option in the bill makes it a better bill than one without a public option. If Lincoln does anything to kill the public option (getting a triggered public option or just plain blocks cloture so there can be an up-or-down vote), then we lose and she wins.
Second, we can start to point out now that she’s already given us enough reason to help a primary challenger to defeat her. Whether or not she ultimately decides not to betray the Democratic Caucus, Democrats everywhere, and Arkansans, we can still very much continue to argue that she has to go.
But start getting the momentum going now. Start building the pressure now. Start planning now for either contingency, one for the case in which she’s proven herself to be ineffective despite having ultimately been forced to allow a vote for a public option (she’d still vote against HCR w/ a public option, btw), and another for the case in which she actually sides with the Republicans to filibuster the public option.
Either way, she’s out.

“Sarah of course blames Liberal Blogger Plants this from the lady who palls around with Joe the Plumber.”
Even assuming there were libral blogger plants willing to stand in a cold rain all day on the off chance that Sarah would mess up, it was still Sarah or Her handlers who created the problem not the alleged, and very unliekly plants.
That Sarah is so illogical is expected, it says volumes that the Palinistas can’t see the stupidity of that whine.
