We get dozens of solicitations from the Obama campaign every day, based on how generous we were with our time and money for Obama in 2008. Here is an example of the kinds of replies I send back. I doubt they’ll send me a FREE BRADLEY MANNING! bumper sticker, though.
Do you write back to the campaign? I usually get a “Thanks for your reply” reply. I’ve never gotten a reply that didn’t seem to be automated.

I sent back my last Obama solicitation with a 1 dollar bill and a note that said “call me when you go on TV and promise not to cut social security, medicaid and medicare“. They haven’t called.
I got a text asking me “to enter for a chance to join Beyonce, Jay-Z and Obama in New York…” Really?
Last night DSCC called for money. I told them that I didn’t trust democrats, any of them. They hung up on me.
Gladly I’m no longer on the list.
I unsubscribed from MoveOn, but they still keep calling me.
Next time they call — as they will, they’re that desperate for cash now that the corporate hounds that sustain the GOP have been let off the leash by Citizens United — tell them that Obama’s too right-wing for you. Otherwise, they’ll assume that you’re a Tea Partier instead of a pissed-off progressive.
good point.
i do this and sign my ‘unsubscribe’ forms,
‘A former Obama voter’.
I just got an email offering me a free bumper sticker, with, in the writer’s words, “no strings attached”. In the past, all their offers for a bumper sticker were contingent upon a donation.
I guess these days they need “grassroots” support more than they need money?
I was tempted to get one just to keep it out of circulation, lol, but I’ll be damned if I’ll give them my address.
they don’t contact me. i told them i didn’t want to hear from them any more.
I joined with fake info just to keep tabs on what they were sending the faithful.
And it’s a real hoot getting emails from Barack, Michelle, and Joe, begging for money that all sound like they were written by the same person, LOL. Sure, Barack, I just know it’s you, talking to me, personally!
And gadzooks, the emails containing sweepstakes contests to meet one or the other of the executive trio for the measly price of a donation. I wonder how many people go to bed at night dreaming of being a lucky winner?
” i told them i didn’t want to hear from them any more.”
I do. I want to waste their time and money.
your blood pressure probably stays lower than mine!
The first call I got this season, I said I was not a Democrat anymore.
The caller’s voice brightened and she asked, “Oh, are you an independent?”
I replied, “More Green than independent.”
Her voice dulled and she said, “Well the important thing is that you vote.”
My impression was that she was prepared to go into a sales pitch for Obama with independents. However, as to liberals, she was either unprepared or had been told simply to move on if she encountered someone left of Obama.
Did they really think no lefties would switch away from Oblahblah after the way he and his administration demeaned the left for trying to hold him to things like the public option, transparency and other things he said 2007-08 to get our primary and election votes?
He promised the left little enough, for feck’s sake. Excuse us for believing him.
I know they say all the time “The left has nowhere else to go,” to justify treating the left badly. However, I thought they knew they were lying when they said that or, at best, whistling in the dark.
Ha, I started replying to emails from Obama, DSCC, and the DCCC asking them Why are you asking the little people for money? Don’t you get enough from Wall St and big corps?
Now I don’t get so many emails, but they are sending me stuff in the regular mail, which I have to throw out.

So far I’ve received one mailer for Romney and one phone call for Obama. I told the caller I was voting for Jill Stein and he said “thanks” and hung up. I’m guessing they have been instructed not to waste time on anyone not undecided, which is probably a good plan, given how few undecideds there are.
I just say both parties stink and they hang up on me! :)
