Friday Morning, at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, in New Orleans, Sarah Palin termed the ongoing illegal expansion of Israeli settlement in and around East Jerusalem a "minor zoning decision," as she tried to articulate what she described as "The Obama Doctrine."

In her Friday morning Southern Republican Leadership Conference speech, Palin’s intentional mispronunciation of "nuclear" as "nukular," – or however one spells it – is as troublesome as her belittlement of the beginnings of the most important nuclear arms agreement in a generation was the other day.

I’ve seen Palin’s cold eyes, as she told me that the world is a mere 6,000 to 7,000 years old, that humans and very, very big dinosaurs walked the earth together (presumably before the Noachian Deluge), and that she looks forward to seeing Jesus return to Earth during her lifetime. Perhaps in a new zone in Jerusalem, marked "Jesusland"?

I’ve long been critical of our Alaska media’s refusal to openly condemn or even chastise Palin for inciting divisive conduct and activities up here. But now, with George Stephanopoulis’ insinuation of this superstitious pathological liar into dialogue with the President on nuclear armament, without putting the craziness of this woman and her beliefs into context, the same irresponsibility regarding Palin I’ve seen in Alaska for years, is coming front and center into national politics.

Her ability to misframe issues was proven in the "death panel" affair last summer. Will we see the national media’s desperation for hits and viewers, combined with their realization that Palin brings more hits and viewers than anyone else, cause the same sort of damage to the national discourse her presence inflicted upon Alaska up to last year?

Thursday, on the Rusty Humphries radio show, Sarah Palin lied. She insinuated President Obama has never shown his birth certificate, and that she had shown her son Trig’s. Both statements are lies.

About President Obama’s birth certificate, here’s the exchange:

HUMPHRIES: Would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?

PALIN: Um, I think the public, rightfully, is still making it an issue. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think enough members of the electorate still want answers.

HUMPHRIES: Do you think it’s a fair question to be looking at?

PALIN: I think it’s a fair question…

About her youngest son Trig’s birth certificate, here’s the exchange:

HUMPHRIES: I mean, truly, if your past is fair game and your kids are fair game, certainly Obama’s past should be. I mean, we want to treat men and women equally, right?

PALIN: Hey, you know, that’s a great point. That weird conspiracy theory freaky thing that people talk about, that Trig isn’t my real son, a lot of people say, "Well, you need to produce his birth certificate, you need to prove that he’s your kid," which we have done, but yeah, so maybe we should reverse that and use the same type of thinking on the other one.[ emphasis added]

Sarah and Todd Palin have never produced a birth certificate for Trig Palin.

Max Blumenthal and Joseph Dana created a riveting video in Jerusalem, on the eve of President Obama’s Cairo University address. It showed hatred toward our president by young Israelis and Americans. It was seen over 500,000 times. Now it has been removed from YouTube

Max produced a number of videos while in Israel and the Occupied West Bank, in May and early June. They document several aspects of the occupation, current Israeli internal politics, and give glimpses of the ongoing Jewish identity crisis there, particularly among young people. Max has interviewed people on farms, in the military, in politics, and on the street. He ended one video report from within the posh Milken-Dobson exercise club, in a Jewish settlement on stolen Palestinian land.

I’ve been following Max’s career closely, since he spent a week or so with us in Wasilla last September, as he investigated Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s ties to extremist groups. He’s maturing rapidly as a journalist, and articles from his trip to Israel and the West Bank, covered by Max’s own blog, The Daily Beast, Huffington Post and Mondoweiss, are quite riveting.

Every time George Bush refused to answer a question from Helen Thomas, the left blogosphere was all over him. In spite of the fact that President Obama refused to answer Thomas’ first question to him, and denied her a followup, the left seems mostly silent.

Here was Ms. Thomas’ question:

Mr. President, do you think that Pakistan are maintaining the safe havens in Afghanistan for these so-called terrorists? And also, do you know of any country in the Middle East that has nuclear weapons?
