FDL Book Salon guest Charlie Pierce will be on Countdown tonight with David Shuster to discuss the "birther" phenomenon along with his book Idiot America.
If folks in the right wing don’t believe the Republican governor of Hawai’i, the head of the Hawai’i Department of Health, and the two local newspapers that announced the birth, I’m not sure what facts would interest them.
Perhaps Pierce will need to write an addendum for something this egregiously stupid.

All I can say is good luck to him. I’m convinced that Birthers are there to make other conspiracy theorists look brilliant by comparison. In the case of 9/11 and Vince Foster, the facts were at least a bit complicated. This one seems so straightforward that you’d have to deliberately ignore everything you know to believe in it.
thanks for mentioning this–I think you’re right, logic and facts clearly carry no weight with the birthers
It’s just their quaint little way of saying “we don’t like you”.
I wonder why they don’t just say there are no black men who are born in America? Like maybe we’re still shipping them here in secret? shhhh….
Dang, no “look inside!” feature at Amazon…but there is a tasty Q&A with the author, for those who are interested.
wondering when Keith, Rachel, Ed, Chris Matthews will report anything about the “convoy of death” in Afghanistan. You know the massacre of Taliban who had surrendered
No we need to hear more about “birthers” and “Sarah”
Jon Stewart did a take-down on the Birthers tonight, as if anyone needed more.
