   I remember hearing about Helen Thomas when I was a kid in the early 60s. I loved that she put presidents on the spot, and continues to do so to this day.

   i emailed helen once after seeing her on a cspan panel to thank her for her courage and she actually wrote back and thanked me. She is a gem. yeah obama is gonna like her, i hope.

   She answers every single one! She wrote back to me as well, I treasure that e-mail. I loved it when she appeared in the video that Colbert ran during his flaying of W at the National Press Club Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner.

   Thank you. I love Helen Thomas. She’s a true heroine. One of my most valuable possessions is a picture of her she autographed for me at a talk she gave here a couple years back.
