VG Nett, Norwegian’s largest news website, has a poignant photo essay on our friend Helen Thomas, in her own words, the photographs by Pontus Höök.
Meet journalist Helen Thomas. She is 87 years and has covered the White House in Washington since 1961, and has seen nine U.S. presidents come and go.

I remember hearing about Helen Thomas when I was a kid in the early 60s. I loved that she put presidents on the spot, and continues to do so to this day.
A true American hero.

She answers every single one! She wrote back to me as well, I treasure that e-mail. I loved it when she appeared in the video that Colbert ran during his flaying of W at the National Press Club Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner.
Thank you. I love Helen Thomas. She’s a true heroine. One of my most valuable possessions is a picture of her she autographed for me at a talk she gave here a couple years back.
