AMERICANA: The 2nd Revolutionary War
The Department of Homeland Security classifies them as potential "domestic terrorists"; they prefer to be called "Patriots."
As the economic crisis deepens and the Internet fuels conspiracy theories, a growing movement of Americans is rejecting hope and embracing fear. Its adherents have lost faith in the two-party system and the mainstream media — which they say is controlled by a much larger, more powerful enemy: The New World Order. They believe a violent revolution is imminent, and they’re getting ready for it now.
VBS.TV crosses the country to meet the people on the front lines of the struggle. They include Alex Jones, a radio talk show host in Austin, Texas who is "waking people up" to the dangers of the corporate globalists — and has seen traffic on his websites increase dramatically in recent months.
We also meet Sgt. Charles Dyer, a U.S. Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton who has taken an oath to disobey "unconstitutional orders" and take up arms against the government if it becomes tyrannical — and is training a citizen militia to do the same.
Traveling from tea parties in Texas to "Oath Keeper" rallies in Massachusetts, VBS investigates whether the country is actually on the verge of the 2nd Revolutionary War.

They didn’t even interview Alex Jones (he probably refused) and they just show him in his Austin studio. Other than that, this short is a nice summary of the so-called patriot movement from last spring.
It’s tough if you’re a leftist like me and you agree with the Oathkeepers on the erosion of the Constitution, but the devil is in the details as far as our different priorities go. I was habeas corpus restored, the MCA, PATRIOT ACT and 17th amendment repealed, the 4th, 6th, and 8th amendments revitalized, and “free speech zones” made an historic anomaly. They want their guns, globalization halted, and think global warming is a hoax.
At least we agree on the importance of ending the Federal Reserve and ending the influence of offshore bankers on our democracy.
