Last night, Keith Olbermann named Ray Sandoval, the New Mexico director for OFA (Organizing for America aka Obama for America), as the Worst Person in the World — well almost, he won the bronze medal.
Sandoval is the one who sent around a blog post blasting Paul Krugman and the firebagging left, a clip:
Paul Krugman is a political rookie. At least he is when compared to President Obama. That’s why he unleashed a screed as soon as word came about the debt ceiling compromise between President Obama and Congressional leaders – to, you know, avert an economic 9/11.
[...]
The more than half-a-trillion in defense and security spending cut “trigger” for the Republicans will hardly earn a mention on the Firebagger Lefty blogosphere. Hell, it’s a trigger supposedly for the Republicans, and of course, there’s always It’sNotEnough-ism to cover it.
Jane did have a word or two to say about this.
Srsly, how could anyone not like such a great band? They rock!

KO and FDL are getting more shout outs from the itty bitty kiddie Deaniac83. Deaniac wants a fight with the Pro Left. It may be wrong to link to these sycophants. But Deaniac does have a “point”. His point is that no one is considering that Obama was a winner in the Big Satan Debt Deal.
I also have not addressed Obama’s Greatest Victory. That is because every time I start thinking that Obama won something, I laugh hysterically. But people will suffer because of the Satan Sandwich and that is not so funny. Nobody won. We all lost.
We will lose more from the Obama “modifications” of Social Security. Obama and Deaniac will claim cutting Social Security is a victory. Just the same as the victories in Irak, and Afghanistan.
LOL! Great! Recc’d.
I think the band is playing a variation of “We Are the Champions”
We’re Firebaggers – my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting – till the end –
We’re Firebaggers –
We’re Firebaggers
No time for losers
‘Cause we’re Firebaggers – of the world –
sweet!
Great read Elliott . . . thanks.
N thanks Frank, great comment up there.
Rcc’d.
Any word from Paul about this:)

Is he an adolescent?
He writes like he’s a 14 year old snot nosed brat
“Even the Professional Left’s Patron Saint Paul Krugman wouldn’t touch the merits of my argument, instead choosing (just like Keith) to have a proxy fight with the Obama campaign about what I wrote.”
Ah. I can clear that one up for you: That’s because some Obama worshipper writing nasty things about Democrats who are liberals is not, in itself, notable. The Director of Obama’s New Mexico Campaign voicing these sentiments by posting your blog post, that was notable. That’s the only part that was.
Dog bites man: Obot exists and writes nasty things about Democrats.
Man bites dog: Obama campaign will fire anyone who calls a Republican “weird” but doesn’t care if anyone in the campaign calls leading Democratic intellectuals “hysterical” “political rookies” and all the rest.
There are a number of Web sites where people defend Obama against anyone they feel is being mean to him. That, in itself, is not news, and if Olbermann responded each time that happened, that’s all his program would consist of, every night.
In other words, you’re really not important. It was the campaign thing that made you think you were.
Cleared up now?
You’re welcome.
Rock On!!!
Thank you, Elliot.

I have such a take down of the debt ceiling in the hopper – you can’t believe it. There is so much bad about it it’s going to take a series; I’ve got 5 so far, due to 5 Titles in the bill (S. 365.)
The poor dear deaniac; can’t distinguish partisanship from progressive/liberal values, but I’m about to school him.
I had hoped that Olbermann’s new show would be significantly more progressive than his stint on MSNBC. Unfortunately, he continues to utilize the psuedo-progressive Markos Milquetoast as his go to blog person. We’d be much better served if he relied on FDL for that.
Both the U.S. and Europe need an Economic Marshall Plan (EMP), like that instituted after World War II in Europe that helped rebuild all that was destroyed by a war machine built by a bunch of German industrialists, a post-war “stimulus plan” that generated jobs, put food in people’s bellies, rebuilt devastated societies and spurred the growth of prosperity across the economic spectrum.
Instead, we are seeing post-World War I austerity being pushed, no economic stimulus being proposed (but if proposed, too little, or too late, or being blocked entirely), the rich hoarding wealth at epic proportions and bought politicians calling for austerity for everyone but the rich.
And regarding an anti-austerity pro-stimulus Economic Marshall Plan (EMP), it takes EMP to spell empathy, something that seems sorely lacking in high-level discussions and decisions, both in Washington D.C. and European capitals, at least any empathy toward the “least” amongst us. What would Jesus do, if he were involved in these discussions and decisions? Well, we all know what he had to say about the “least” amongst us, relative to himself, so I’d guess he’d be for the rich giving instead just the rich taking, thus displaying some empathy for the “least” even if they don’t necessarily feel any empathy for the “least.”
Hmmm, maybe we could change it from the Economic Marshall Plan, Part Two, to just the Krugman Plan or maybe the Krugman and the Firebaggers Plan? Nawww, the neo-cons and neo-liberals would never go for that.
This little twit should go tell Rep. Emanuel Cleaver to his face that he’s an “emoprog” for calling the deal a “sugar-coated Satan sandwich”. When he’s done, he should call Nancy Pelosi a “political rookie” for adding “with a side of Satan fries.”
“you want a bag of fire with that?” :~)
so sad but so true
i was too polite to use that ;)
I see Gilligan Obama have 1.1 millions dollars bus. So let try to throw him under it before he can throw grandma from the train for her social security and medicare. I understand its has allot of room up under it for the Blue dogs, Yellow dogs,Corporatist, the Gritters, the Rat bastards, the Weaselcrats, The Cowardcrats, the Arrogance Ass kissers and most all the dumb motherfuckers on our side that using shit for brain. And I’ve written him suggesting he bring Jane or DavidD on; if he gets enuf requests he might, but he does seem to vacillate between being pissed off at the Obama Admin and being part of the veal pen.
Here come the Red Hot Firedogs, Rockin’ lake you’ve nevah seen ‘em before!!! They got rhythm, they got class, they don’t take no damned sass!!!

Please read http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2011/08/michael-hudson-the-case-against-the-credit-ratings-agencies.html
What Krugman is opposing is what Dennis Kuccinich opposed in Cleveland when he was Major. The elite want to jack up all our expenses for their profit. They use the rating agencies to downgrade public debt and then do takeovers to privatize the most lucrative assests such as public utilities.
thank YOU!
thanks, DW :)
they do seem to prefer the rigged game, don’t they?
very fine rant, milesscott.
Look at these emoprogs!

Geez! What does it take to get a hat tip around here? You even linked to the thread I posted this video on. Oh well, as long as it gets exposure I guess.
Goodness, Firebaggers seem to be mighty popular these days…! ;-)
From DU…Firebaggers, check in here… Already over 270+ comments…
Even a shout-out from Ben Smith at Politico…
Coinage of the day: ‘Firebagger’
Sorry Margaret, I didn’t see it in a thread, it was sent to me in an email.
But here’s a belated hat tip to Margaret! Our community grows and strengthens on shared information.
I was kinda being silly Ellie, (you can tell be the “geez”, I never use that word), but it’s also nice to get a shout out every now and then.
*heh* I always appreciate ya, Peg…! ;-)
Speaking of appreciation, Margaret, what you shared about Carla Faye was most important, as well as enlightening, and I hope that you might, sometime, if you deem it proper and appropriate, share a bit more …

Sandoval: Baracktionary fire-doggerel; firebugger-off the halfascist SON of a Bush!
His handle includes the term “Deaniac.” To me–and I work as an organizer–self-applying that label identifies him both as a terminal true believer and a person with probable arrested development issues. The Dean campaign of 2004 and the Obama campaign of 2008 are pretty indistinct except that none of the Dean people were competent or industrious enough to do fucking data entry. That’s the major reason that that dude was the frontrunner until votes were cast, they had no way keeping track of the people they had been signing up to volunteer and had a shit ground game.
He feels some sort of debt is owed by him to Kos because they let him blog there and made a big deal over his exalted presence.
DW, what I shared is all I’m willing to share out of respect for Karla’s ex husband as well as her foster daughter. I do get mighty sick of people raking that whole sordid episode over the coals when they have zero knowledge of it or of her. She was guilty. Some would say she deserved to die but she didn’t deserve to be mocked by the wanking chimp, nor, in my opinion, used as an object in a blog post. Perhaps, someday, if both of them agree to it, I’ll write a diary on it but not before. Thanks for your interest though. Sincerely.
P.S. I’ll do this though. I went to grade school with her but her family soon moved away. When they moved back into the area, I think we were both 16, maybe 17. I said something snide and she tried to kick me in the crotch. I managed to catch the heel of her shoe as her foot was about to make contact. Though I didn’t mean for it to happen, I broke her heel off and left her hopping on one foot. I thought she was going to be furious with me for breaking her, (really cute), short top boot as I recall. Instead she laughed her ass off and we were great friends from then on but that was Karla: Short temper, prone to violence at times but if you treated her with respect, she would give you the same back and nobody who ever saw her with her foster daughter would call her a psychopath. She killed in a fit of rage, not because she was remorseless and without conscience.
Current TV is an Al Gore enterprise and he’s not considered to be a real progressive.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates seeing that phony Malitsas on Countdown. I have boycotted DailyKos since Malitsas trash talked Dennis Kucinich as being motivated by his ego and self-interest in speaking out against Obamacare.
I’ve never forgiven Lawrence O’Donnell for similar
Evidently, Deaniac loves him some more mid-term ass-whipping in 2012.
Democratic victim syndrome is alive and well.
Thank you, Margaret.
I fully understand.
And appreciate.

Has anybody looked the blog that this barf came from, The People’s View? As far as hatred and venom goes it makes the average Tea Party Convention look like a bake sale and its directed at the non-koolaid drinking base of the Democratic Party
What floors me is that a State Director of OFA actually reads this stuff and doesn’t start crying or fall out of his chair laughing. If that blog reflects the mindset of the Obama Campaign it explains much. Certainly they live in the same sort of alternative reality as the Tea Party folks however they believe in the deity of Obama. They would make a great mini-series for the Dr Who show but frankly no one would believe it.
Actually I have to admit they may become a dirty pleasure of mine as I watch them explain away Obama’s coming sellouts and the arrival of President Perry.
Mr Obama has shown himself to be as impervious to change (oh the irony!) as the GOP. He came into town believing that he could build a bipartisan alliance… and he has held to that belief despite all real events since… He believes that liberal voters will go to the polls for him, no matter what… despite the constantly rising tide of voices to the contrary.
Dogged tenacity is not in itself a virtue. It depends on “what for”… “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.”
Why are yellow dog democrats “traitors”? The yellow dog democrats that I know and love are democrats who are true believers in the ideals of economic and social justice traditionally promoted by the Democratic party. I think a lot of them are having a hard time believing that the party no longer represents the people. In fact the ones I know can’t believe that because they have based a lot of their life choices on the idea that there was a real balance of political power and that there were people standing up for them in the political fray. They are the most vulnerable to the mainstream media/Lawrence O’Donnell-type framing of the current political crisis being the product of Republican obstructionism with Obama and Democratic leaders being powerless because that fits a frame that is familiar to them. Did you call them traitors or did I misunderstand your post? Also, what is a gritter, rat bastard, or weaselcrat? I looked them and the others up on google, but none of the definitions seemed to fit the political context.
Seriously, the yellow dog democrats that I know care a lot about what is happening, they pay attention, but a lot of them are older and get most of their information from the traditional sources of media which they have always trusted but which now works to keep them deceived. When the yellow dogs figure out that they have been sold-out, we will have a chance against the corporatists and other Republicans. I think the effort to marginalize the Progressive left is really an effort to protect the yellow dogs and other traditional democrats from learning the truth about the current state of the corporatist Democratic party .
A lot of people can’t distinguish between progressive and liberal. Part of that is simply not understanding, even though the distinction is becoming clearer every day. I also think mainstream Dems and Obamabots mix the two terms to keep people confused.
FYI, we all know about how right-wing Limbaugh-Hannity wingnut radio reaches out to the numbskulls in the heartland to form their opinions for them. Well a lot of places across the country, who don’t get large city newspapers, get local newspapers with state, nation and world news from Associated Press wire service. The AP is all-too-often shallow in its reporting, slanted in its presentation of the simple he-said, she-said, and not really in tune with its readers. It’s meat and potatoes with a serving of Palin and a side of Bachmann and Perry for dessert.
Sometimes AP will delve a little bit deeper in its weekend stories. Today AP released a story about Obama getting criticized from some liberals in his party who are disgruntled enough to not vote for him. Not once in the entire story was the word “progressive” mentioned.
Good point. There seems to be a lot of efforts to marginalize the mainstream Progressive left. That’s good for two reasons. One, because they must be scared shitless. And two, because more and more of us who have a conscience are proudly identifying as progressives because we realize the rest of the party has abandoned our “f*ing retarded” viewpoints.
Maybe he’ll one day have a Lyndon Johnson moment, when LBJ on the growing discontentment over the Vietnam War said something like, “If I’ve lost Walter Cronkite, I’ve lost America.”
– “If I’ve lost the progressive base of my own party, I’ve lost re-election.”
One can dream.
Heh, left the whiner a comment at his place. Wonder how long it’ll stay up.
I’m now officially banned from deaniac83′s pile of horseshit. I’m so proud.
Awesome picture at the comment here. I gonna use it
