Unfckinb’elieveable.
The video was shot by Roger Gaona.
Shot this today at 8am, on our way back to the general assembly.
The Scooter policeman stops when he hooks his victim’s foot , then continues to apparently drive over it or around it and finish off the job with the back wheel.
You can clearly see the officer’s conscious will to acknowledge his trapped victim and getting off to fend off the rest who may try to help him. Notice these steel engines’ mass is extremely heavy for a middle aged man’s ankle’s bones. then another officer notices the scooter and pushes it down (thankfully), yet another manages to instead of help the suffering him, finish him off by beating him with a club. Another comes in and tackle-pressed him down on the ground on his chest finishing the arresting process.
UPDATE: Legal Observer Under Arrest After Being Injured By Police Scooter In Occupy Wall Street Protests
Gideon Oliver, who is on the executive committee of the New York City chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, confirmed to TPM that the man in the video is one of their legal observers. Oliver wouldn’t give the man’s name or confirm the extent of his injuries, but he did say the man is currently in the emergency room receiving medical attention — and that he is under arrest.
UPDATE 2 from the NYT: There’s a second longer video from the Local East Village showing more of the aftermath

Great commentary Elli, thanks for the input yer spot on.
Insane, just insane this act . . . what was the dude DOING that got this cop to run him down? Was the cop doin a rogue act or was he ordered to do so?
Lotta questions . . . a horrid act, just horrid.
despicable! – will they arrest the cop – they arrested the victim
So, ah, who does the public turn to when they need to arrest a cop?
The officer that ran over that man should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The officers that arrested the man should be charged with assault and battery.
And the arrested man… what’s he charged with? Pissing off a motorcycle cop?
Another day, another outrage in the police state.
Elliott, how awful for all you and especially the man who was pinned. Did anyone see that cop’s badge and get a name or number? He is a dangerous sociopath and we need to get him off the street.
Sick, Elliot.
Washingtonsblog had it up this morning; a radio clip with Steve Sandberg witnessing it is about a third of the way down the long piece.

I wasn’t on the scene, but I bet someone did. He should be arrested.
I hope each of those cops are getting a huge cut of those massive NY City Police Foundation donations from Wall Street. They will need it need it to cover their legal bills from the impending lawsuit.
hope someone got badge numbers and names…
disgusting behvior.
