This is great. Love it. Thanks, Ellie.
Nice touch with Christie in the elevator
Thanks, Elliot. Fun and funny, but they missed having a Dancing David Gregory look alike in there.
Elliot–
That is hilarious. Admittedly, I think this video is apropos to a number of Dems, like John Kerry, who’s married to a billionairess. (But, that’s not to pick on you–it’s just my honest observation.) I imagine that it is also quite an accurate depiction of Romney, and it was fun to watch.
If you’re the “same Elliott” who does the Book Salon reviews, may I make an request? I’m presently reading a book that was released at the beginning of the year, I believe. It’s written by Charles Murray, an extreme right-wing “intellectual.” I believe that PW did a diary on it months ago. Anyhoo, I have profound disagreements with his theory about the “white working class,” but believe that he’s pretty much right on about the “New Upper Class.”
The name of the book is: “Coming Apart: The State of White America 1960-2010.” I, for one, could discuss his book with him in a very respectful and civil manner, and would love to have the opportunity to do so.
The reason that this book is so important, is that his thinking is the bedrock of Clinton, Obama, Bush, etc., domestic policy (now that I’ve read the book, I understand this.) That applies to everything from eviscerating the social safety net, to so-called school “reform,” to the “Office of Faith-Based Initiatives and Neighborhood Partnerships,” which has been expanded under President Obama, etc.
Murray (who, of course, with two Ivy League degrees) is part of this “New Upper Class,” expounds on how he (and apparently most beltway insiders of both parties) blame the economic woes of the white working-class on “lack of character,” which they believe that a big dose of religion would fix.
Anyway, please consider this. And regardless, thanks for the chuckle (I needed one).
Recommended.

Blue – I will pass this on to Book Salon Bev. Thanks!
Thank you.
