You know that time is passing you by when you get nothing but blank stares after mentioning the Group W Bench.
I mentioned “circles and arrows on the back of each one” and people thought I was talking about football.
I’m grateful for songwriters who put powerful social commentary into poetry that gets stuck in people’s heads for years.

I just discovered this morning that I am a member of the top 1 percent (in Quebec). Much prefer it to being in the bottom 30 percent. I’m thankful and don’t mind paying heavy taxes on that (by US standards relatively low) income. My wife considers us middle class. I have repeatedly pointed out that this involves a rather special definition of ‘middle.’ Happy Thanksgiving, all.
Happy Thanks to everyone. I am thankful that Ms. BearCountry and I have seen so many Thanksgiving together. I am thankful that we have a young BearCountry growing up. I am thankful that there has been a calm come to I/P; perhaps by Egypt intervening it can expand. I am thankful to have FDL, Jane, her helper pups, and all of the firepups; this seems to be an oasis of sanity in an insane world.

Yes, I just read that today about Arlo – surprised me greatly.
May I add in, I sure am hoping some Thanksgiving Hospitality comes your way.
How so? Name one other name-recognition politician who has been saying for over twenty years, that we should stop the wars, end the drug wars, and get rid of the Trillion-dollar dispensary machinery for Big Financial Firms (i.e. The Fed? )
If we ended the drug wars, many Americans could fully employ themselves. I am sitting in the middle of a very big harvest, inside the county that comes in second to Humboldt for it,er, farming product. Restaurants are booming, and so are the other retail businesses. (At least for the next few months.) It’s not a trickle down economy – it’s a spread it around economy.
Although I didn’t vote for Ron Paul- I would much rather talk to one of his supporters that some Obama worshipper.
