Thanks Ellie. This chart explains how Realists view climate change vs how skeptics view it. Pretty damning for the skeptics if you ask me. And here is a pie chart, which shows the difference in the number of peer reviewed papers that accept anthropogenic climate change vs the number of papers disputing it in the same time period. The science is in and the debate is over. Disbelievers either have a vested interest in continued carbon based fueling of our society or a paranoid fear of the UN, (or something more Alex Jones-like).

It is December 9, and it is 64 F, and we are under a tornado watch until 9 PM. Amazing. Anyway, we have made substantial effort to reduce emissions.

I’m a fatalist so skip this comment if you must. I think we’ve passed the point of no return. Fukishima, gulf oil blow, GM foods and fracking out show how systems created to serve us are now collecting the costs of serving us and present , really , unsolvable problems. There is no money for nothing. no free lunch that each of these systems were designed to deliver. I think of 12/21 as the entrance to our final farewell, O well I’m probably wrong so enjoy the day we have today, sorry kids for the mess we leave you with.
Yes, I actually worked as an aerothermophysicist for several years. Aero – air. Thermo – heat. Physicist – physical behavior of air when heated.
We are beyond the tipping point. The rate of change with additional injections of CO2 in the air is accelerating. So “climate change” will be more and more visible, even to those euphemistically named low information citizens. Within 5 years – expect the US to be promoting some far out schemes where we have (incredibly well paid, naturally) private contractors spreading carbon particles or titanium or whatever in our atmosphere to mitigate.
Then, in another 5 yrs., we will see the (amazing, they did not predict it) obnoxious side effects of those actions!!!!
Tah tah. Sorry to sound so pessimistic but Armageddon may not be just a fantasy, folks!
The worst way to look at this is it’s not incremental linear change ,gradual open to intervention, can you say Sandy ?
