Blitzer to tornado survivor: “I guess, you gotta thank the Lord, right?”
Who knew Wolfie was so f’ing pious. yuk.
Being totally clueless and/or dumb as dirt DOES NOT disqualify one from being part of CNN.
Woflie must be desperate for ratings gold
Open mouth and insert both feet. How could he be so dumb? It would have been a silly remark under any circumstances.
“Yes. I want to thank my Lord Satan, is that alright with you?”
There could have been so many snarky replies to that. She was actually pretty gracious.
Turning to the camera. “Where’s your God now dead people?!” But that would be mean. Can you imagine people who, after a tragedy could say something that cruel? Yet that is exactly what the Fundies say after a tragedy. “If you had only believed in God this wouldn’t have happened.” I think it would be fair to go to them and say, ‘For those who were fundies and died, why didn’t God protect them? Was God punishing them? Do they know that? Do you want to tell them that? Because you don’t seem to have a problem telling others that God punishes them for not believing.”
But that would be mean.
Leslie “Wolf” Blitzer is one of the dumbest members of the Worst Press In The World. Like all other DC “sophisticates” with 102 IQ’s, Blitzer simply assumes the Great Unwashed (i.e. people he doesn’t know) are all a bunch of gun-totin,’ Bible thumpin,’ right wing dimwits.
A good reply might be Why Lord have you forsaken me!
Imagine if the reply was I guess Global Warming is real.
The last thing I want to hear when my world comes crumbling down is thank the Lord, or cheer up it could have been worst.
Wolf is lucky he didn’t get hit or screamed at
Wait Wait I know Taloc demands blood sacrifices!
Or God demands we purge the Sinners from the Temple the bankers, the war criminals and those who engage in torture God is angry with us.
Where was Pat Robertson to pray away the storm surely Oklahoma is not a bigger nest of Sinners than us Blue States or are we slipping?
Think how dangerous Wolfie would be if he had a life.
Who was that person on tv who asked people to cry on their show is that what Wolf was going for?
Can a Renfield ever rise to Lord of the Undead?
Tomorrow a PA church will open up a sports camp designed to sweat the gay away and Pottersville mainstay Cyril Blubberpuss weighs in (heavily) with a story out of his family’s past. (And yes, I did send off the letter to the church.)
Its one thing if a person volunteers information its another when a reporter goes after an emotional reaction after a tragedy like this. It is not so much Wolf was mentioning God it was he was trying to use God to get an emotional reaction on camera like he was an emotion sucking vampire is what I find distasteful about this.
Like all other DC “sophisticates” with 102 IQ’s
I believe you may have misunderstood the accent around here. I’m pretty sure what you heard about Wolf’s and the other sophisticates’ IQ’s was someone saying “1 or 2.”
… that was/is an amusing link jp … :-) … noted and liked …
“Ya gotta thank the lord, right?”
This is so stupid, it seems almost staged. Is Wolf himself steeped in religious circular idiocy, or was he fishing for a typical Oklahoman neanderthal reaction to mother nature’s overwhelming power?
This person was so full of grace, I wish I could personally tell her how I admire her poise after enduring a horrible event and then, on top of that, demonstrating to a fucking MORON how to diplomatically put an end to a logically morobund line of questioning.
I would have surely embarrassed myself by responding with anger and cynicism, saying something like, “Gee Wolf, Yes, I do thank the lord for terrorizing and obliterating an entire town and murdering its children and brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers and cousins and aunts and uncles and friends and lovers by smiting them with a random 250 mph vortex of devastation and letting me and my child live. He works in mysterious ways, you know.” And then cocking my head and lolling my tongue and staring at the sky with infinity-fixed eyes.
The definition of stupid is pretty straight-forward. Engaging someone in a conversation about punishment, human behavior and barbaric interpretations of consequences and infantile projected meanings on random weather events definitely fits that bill. Realizing that’s as close as one will ever get to an intelligent conversation with a particular individual is absolutely depressing.
Thanks a lot Wolf, for the reminder that, on an evolutionary scale, we’re thousands of years away from graduating kindergarten.
Thank the lord that your neighbors all got killed but you survived.
“I’m actually an Atheist,” was her response. Then the nervous laugh, being outnumbered, I’m sure. The best part was Rebecca’s not vilifying prayers to the Lord. A respect for prayer, which religious absolutists in general seldom show atheists or agnostics.
Thank the weather forecasters and realized this happened during the day and not at night. Trauma sucks…
BARF SPRITZER—-Professional menace to intelligent discussions everywhere. The man is a complete imbecile (besides a Zionist cheerleader) and I don’t care how many pair of “I look smart” fake glasses he wears. You cannot watch him for 2 minutes without a new proof of his clueless pure stupidity. And, of course, that’s why he’s on TV. “That was a fine emotional report,” he said of one OK segment. “Emotional report”? Oh, thank you Barf! As you know, we have no emotions of our own!
According the those which espouse the “Ancient Alien Theory,” the biblical floods cleansed unwanted genetic lines. But, ET’s clued in Noah. Lots of lost cities under water.
Yup, drop an ET nuke at the rock of Gibraltar and let the Atlantic come a rushing in. Genetic misfits gone. Now moving forward….
Wait a minute? What’s that? “They’re bbbbbbback!”
Maybe that is what the human race needs… “An Intervention,” Alien Style? As one would intervene and assist an alcoholic to sobriety or say fuck it and just end the misery?
25 Million killed by God? Sound more like the “Wrath of Khan”
