From his complete silence on the issue, even after the Scott Olsen incident, I think we have the answer to that, or does President Obama think silence means he escapes presidential responsibility to defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights against police violence? Anyway, further confirmation today from AP:
Obama: Each city must decide how to handle Occupy Wall Street demonstrations
President Barack Obama’s spokesman is suggesting the president believes it’s up to New York and other municipalities to decide how much force to use in dealing with Occupy Wall Street demonstrations.
… He said the administration’s position is that each municipality has to make its own decisions about how to handle these issues.
When OWS demonstrators’ constitutional rights to assembly and free speech are violated, the President is silent. Mayors, do as you please.

Hey, what ya think? Are we Libya or Syria or Iran or what? For Obama to condemn? If Obama is to condemn violence, then we should have a rogue head of state. And ya know “it can’t happen here” – the police brutality because – in his own words “we are the greatest nation on the earth”. So be vewy vewy quiet. Okee?
For that matter, “support the troops” Republicans won’t comment either.
Watching this made me feel sick. I’m an American and a New Yorker.
Was the woman arrested? If not, was she punched just for kicks?
It’s so unfair of you to expect the president to notice and have an opinion on the methods our police forces use to clear these dirty fucking hippies from our public parks and streets. I mean, do you really think it befits his heroic stature and position to comment on such mundane issues?
The man’s got a real job to do laying down and enforcing
the changethe status quo he waselectedgroomed to champion. Plus, there’s an election in twelve months and how much influence do these vermin really have anyway? You just don’t understand how politics work. This is the United States where only money says anything worth paying attention to. The only way to accomplish one’s goals is to just make sure those goals line up with the rich and powerful. See how easy that makes it?
Need a health care bill? Just sell out the little people, tell em it’s good for them and it’s all you can do, and then get your obsequious lackies to keep delivering that message. As long as you put on the right hat, isn’t that what counts?
I mean Jesus H Fucking Christ, if your snickers bar gets stuck in the machine, just go eat some cake.
We certainly should demand that Obama support OWS at least as vigorously as he supported the demonstrators in Wisconsin last winter.
Obama, like Bush, has his base, and they are the same people he spends most of his social time with. They ain’t the 99%.
Yeah, he has a clean record on that one too. Incredible.
But he did have many generous, sympathetic words for Wisconsin neanderthal Paul Ryan’s budget recommendations. The O-bend-over-backward-ama routine.

Does Obama condone violence ?
Funny how the Prez is conveniently out of the country when the beating of Americans by the police is occurring…..hmmmmmmm!
It always thearte when these creeps put their hand on a bible
swearing to defend & protect the constitution of the USA.
Does anyone really think the police would pass gas without Obama’s consent?
Silly Wabbit, of course he does and prolly loves it.
Just as NATO came to the aid of the “Libyan Freedom Fighters for Democracy”/s maybe its time for some freedom loving country to come to the aid of the American Citizens who are being beaten and jailed and shot just because they are demanding Democracy instead of Fascist Oligarchy.
Maybe Canada or Mexico ? Or Tunisia ? Cuba ? Martinique ? Anyone?
He’s a 1 percenter. He’s enthusiastic about drone strikes. He lead the military overthrow of Khadafi. Military action in Iran is on the table. He’s increased our military presence in Columbia and now Australia. He killed an American citizen without due process.
So to answer your question, well do I really have to answer it!
I wonder how he could get re-elected if only 1% of country votes for him ?
The #OWS movement calls into question ‘good citizenship.’ I mean, as an American citizen, there is a right to protest–but when does it become a duty? When government becomes destructive of these ends, namely, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
To me it seems just casting a vote is an endorsement of the police state and its brutal tactics of repression. The government is deceitful and oppressive, and now perhaps an enemy of the People.
I think that everyone has a good read on the big 0:
the repugs realize that he is their best repug candidate;
the 0bots know in their hearts that he is scum but can’t admit it;
the rest of us know that however we vote, we don’t count the votes.
We will eventually have drone strikes here after the internet has been shutdown.
They own the voting machines we can’t afford to buy.
Obama is clearly against the Occupy movement.
When the Hawaiian recording artist Makana played his song “We Are The Many“, which includes the refrain: “We’ll occupy the streets, we’ll occupy the courts, we’ll occupy the offices of you, till you do the bidding of the many, not the few” at a dinner attended by Obama, Obama was reportedly too engrossed talking and fawning over the 1%-ers in attendence to even notice.
But the lyrics must have been pointed out to him at some point. Obama was reported to totally dismiss the protest song, and shouted out “Play Freebird” to the singer.
Obama does not like to be around any genuine protest.
But he sure likes his Wall Street buddies.

This just in Bears are shitting in the woods, now back to barry 0.
I listen to Countdown every day at a free site with chat. I think you will be amazed if you step outside the reality-based world of FDL into a nominally Democratic forum like that and see how dominant the Obamabots are out there.
I always think of Michelle saying during the first run that”She was finally proud of America”. At the time i felt the same way. I wonder if she is proud now.
Also, far too many people are still buying the lesser of two evils crap that the vichycrats are selling.
Obama’s courageous advice to law enforcement and the mayors:
Make sure the encampments are gone by the time I get back from my trip. I don’t give a shit what you do to the dirty fucking hippies. Just make sure that whatever you do you do it after midnight after you first clear the area of reporters. We don’t need any more embarrassing photographs of wounded veterans. Once the reporters are gone, feel free to crack some heads or worse, if you need to.
I’ll be out of the country, so you don’t have to worry about any federal investigations or criticism from me or anyone in the White House, Department of Justice or federal law enforcement. In fact I’ve ordered Mueller at FBI and Napolitano at DHS to lend y’all a hand and show you how to do this right.
The United States has your back. You have my word for that.
Thank you for all that you do.
This tape will self-destruct in 10 seconds.
And if you hit any loudmouth bitches, try not to make them bleed.
Or city council people.
“Proudly Punching Hippies Since 2010!”
An American citizen and his American Citizen 16 year old son, dont forget.
Thanks for reminding me.

Obama did not leave it to the mayors – Homeland Security coordinated the violent police response to the peaceful protestors, which is completely illegal.
“Does Obama Condone Police Violence Against Occupy Protesters?”
Of course he does, dummy. He ORDERED it.

This recent headline here at FDL answers your headline’s question: Obama’s Sharpshooters Murder 40 Peaceful Pro-Democracy Protesters in Yemen, Again – Is This a Warning?

First, please AGAIN reframe it as Liberty Plaza! And the Baracketeer’s a DEM constitutional shiller!
“No one ever went broke overestimating the stupidity of the American people.”
–PT Barnum
Or the anti-Issue 2 people in Ohio. Before the election, the most Obama had to say about the union-busting measure was “Well, it appears to be somewhat anti-union.”
After the election, when it went down in flames 61-39%, he proclaimed it a “great victory for the middle class.”
Middle class my ass. It was a victory for the WORKING class. Cops, teachers, firefighters, and most other public employees don’t meet Obama’s standard for “middle class.” You’ve got to make at least 100K a year for THAT.
That story made NPR today. It’s a good story.
In a word, YES!
You mean since 2008…
