We’re Gonna Hurt Some People…Whose Car Are We Taking…I’ll Drive Says Misogynist War Criminal Allen West!
I love it when the worlds of Politics, Hollywood, Shock Doctrine, and Huffington Post, collide. The Republicans channel Ben Affleck’s film “The Town”, which I may have to see. I predict this story will go Big, just the same as Obama’s Big Deal.
The all consuming drama of the Big Debt Deal requires a movie. Republicans decide to raise their morale and stiffen their spines with a Ben Affleck film. Are Republicans going to hurt people? They must not have had any John Wayne or Chuck Norris movies available. Ben Affleck is interviewed in HuffPo and plugs, not one but TWO of this films. Well Played, Ben!
For the mass moviegoer, though, The Town was the best Boston-based crime film since 2006′s The Departed, starring Affleck’s old pal (and fellow Oscar winner, for the Good Will Hunting screenplay) Matt Damon. Ben the director gave Ben the actor his biggest opening in a starring role since the $40.3 million The Daredevil cadged back in 2003.
The R’s are going to the mattresses, as they say in the movies.
House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), the party’s vote counter, began his talk by showing a clip from the movie, “The Town”, trying to forge a sense of unity among the independent-minded caucus.
One character asks his friend: “I need your help. I can’t tell you what it is. You can never ask me about it later.”
“Whose car are we gonna take,” the character says.
After showing the clip, Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), one of the most outspoken critics of leadership among the 87 freshmen, stood up to speak, according to GOP aides.
