You all know better by now than to believe the (corrupt) U.S. News Media, the U.S. State Department, The CIA, The Pentagon, and The President of the U.S.
Libya was not a “dictatorship” in the traditional sense, and Momar Gaddafi was not the evil rogue portrayed by Western propaganda.
If fact, he was a hero. Gaddafi’s Gold Dinar Plan and Libya’s Public Central Bank would have changed the monetary system and freed all of Africa from the Private Central Bank System. Ultimately, it might possibly have freed the NATO host nations from their own parasites – Vampire Private Central Banks.
Gaddafi’s courage and pioneering efforts in trying to restore national sovereignty and making the government responsible to the people instead of to the Global Banking Elites is the reason why he was targeted and killed.
NATO terrorist attacks will not get the Western nations out of debt – only an honest Public Central Bank – like the attempted Bank of Libya – would.
But guess what? With Gaddafi now out-of-the-way, the IMF and The World Bank (Global Banking Elites) have moved in to Libya, and have reestablished their control and dominance there. And (black man) Obama was the ringleader in the effort to reassert the servitude and the impoverishment of Africa.
There will be no independence, and there will be no freedom.
The only way for a Country to be Sovereign is to have sovereign control (and transparent control) of its money.

Seems we had a gold standard (1896) when the famous political campaign against bankers controlling our life had the “Cross of Gold” speech – the Gold dinar was no big deal.
The Swiss accounts, kids with playboy lifestyles, kids harming servants and above the law, father killing thousands, favoring his tribe and the handful of tribes he had married into over Libya’s other 120 tribes (30 regionally powerful with 19 very powerful) – controlling those tribes by murder.
Sorry he was evil – and he spent 40 years tearing down institutions that were needed for the public good but which might provide a power base for a challenger. Because of this the next step may be very tough – tribe fighting tribe – as the world struggles to get the institutions built that are needed in a stable society.
But he was evil – and likely got more of a “trial by jury” than any of his victims over the years.
NTC is staffed by known jihadists. Gadaffi was fighting Al queda, the targets bombed were munition stores the TERRORISTS were after in the early phases of the war.
Gadaffi did in fact pursue a gold backed Dinar to compete with the Euro and the Dollar in Africa.

Libya had zero national debt
Libya’s Central Bank created and loaned money without interest to the government.
Libya’s gold reserves were, per capita, superior to those of Great Britain.
Libya bank rolled a communication satellite, saving the African continent $500 million a year.
Libya built the largest water distribution system in the world at a cost of $30billion, paid for with oil money.
Libya bailed out many member countries of the African Union, helping to stabilize the continent, as well as bank rolling the African Union’s own administration.
Some people don’t want the truth, and want to keep on believing in the totally false “USA good” .vs. evil boogeyman narrative (propaganda).
Anyone who fights and tries to escape the Banking system and/or the Oil Monopolists becomes an “enemy” of the USA.

Thank you for standing up for what Gadhafi was doing in Libya and for Africa. You are a brave person. I tried to say that Gadhafi was not what America was putting out to the world. But was ridiculed here and on FDL. Then, not unexpectedly ignored.
I hope the best for Libya, and we shall see if the Libyans can form their own government. But its not likely. More likely it will become a puppet (Colonial again) government of NATO. And the Western Oil Vampires will have an ongoing feast.
The U.S. and Europe have been furious with Gadhafi since he nationalized the oil some 45 years ago. He was getting to be one Uppity African and had to be put down. Even though he was beginning to work with the U.S. I agree with you that it was his brilliant financial moves that they couldnt abide. More Wall Street showing us who is really in charge here.
And now the tribal and religious wars can begin there. And who will the U.S. have to stay there to back now ?

I don’t know if I want to call him a “hero” any more than calling him an “evil”. He is a mixture. But otherwise what you said are all true. And Libyans had free healthcare and education for God’s sake.The media is the evil for not presenting all this.
My friend was a peace corp volunteer in Kenya. Calls to his parents in US used to be very expensive. Then the communication satellite brought down the costs drastically.
He wanted to form a co-operative, self-reliant African Union and free the continent from West’s imperial grip. And that my friends is why the West wanted to take him out.
The worst part is the liberal class’ IOKIYAD (It’s OK If You Are a Democrat) attitude. OK if Obama does it , not so if a Republican does it. It is symbolic of what Chris Hedges called “the death of the liberal class”.
It shouldn’t have been the West to remove him.

You need to prove this, because I think you’re wrong.
A good portion of the Libyans didn’t support Gadhafi but that doesn’t mean this site or its commentariat supports them or the other side.
This is a complex subject and you and the author think you’re qualified to make judgements and determine who is good or bad, and who’s suffering or exaltation is worthy?

Do you have any link showing how much support Ghaddafi did/did not have among Libyans? All I heard was that he is evil, monster and all that. Sure people revolted against him but then here you know, teabaggers revolt against Obama. And there are revolts throughout the Western world.
My 2 cents: please add a link or 2 to back up your points. I say this as someone who agrees with most of what you said (if you look at my other comments in this diary). Just so people can see for themselves. It is more important because of the lamestream media/NATO/liberal class propaganda.

Every city that these rebels fought to overtake following the NATO stikes were Gadhafi supporters. No one took phone polls so we can’t say that we know how much, but they’ve been fighting for 6 months, deductive reasoning tells me it wasn’t fringe support.
In the past 40 years, Libya had become a model for modern civilization. Free housing, free education, free health care, gas at 14 cents a gallon, no national debt, newlyweds were given money to buy a home, given a monetary gift with the birth of a child. Women prominent in politics. Low infant mortality, high level of literacy. No central bank. No or very low interest loans. A water project was turning the desert green.
Now the Libyan people will be robbed of their resources and impoverished by the Global Bankers.
What started as a genuine revolt for democracy was then hijacked by religious zealots, business class who stand to gain a lot when mass privatization is to be carried under a new regime etc.
Deductive reasoning could also show that there was good support for Ghaddafi ( there was free helathcare, education etc so he is not pure evil) and hence the pro-Ghaddafi resistance went on longer.
To me, the most exciting part was when the global bankers parachuted into Tunisia, overthrew the regime, then a few weeks later did it again in Egypt, all as a setup to murder GKQaddifi…better than Hitchcock!
I listen to Rachel Maddow and Richard Engel repeat verbatim the Obama administrations propaganda both smiling the who time. Maddow seemed to take great pleasure showing Qaddafi’s last moments of life as he was beaten (while wounded) and shot in the head! These are the thugs we have turned loose on the Libyan people; religious nuts who will create yet another banana Republic in the sand.
For years I have listen to capitalist ass-holes brag of how if given a choice, people will always choose capitalism over socialism. From what I have seen for most of my life the choice was usually made at the barrel of a capitalist gun! The west could not and would not dream of matching the sweet deal Ghaddafi gave his people; so the only thing left to do is arm a few power Hungary thugs, help them overthrow the government and allow the global corporate monsters to feed on the Libyan people for generations to come.

If Gaddafi was as evil,wicked and horrible as was/is so often being suggested then Gaddafi should have been taken down a long time ago. What took so long? What changed in 2010 from 1980,1990 or 2000? What rules or means of conduct opened up or gave way?
Odd how it took so long to get to this headline moment ( Gaddafi Out of Power and Now Killed ) in view of warmaking,politics and regime changes historical period 1970 – 2011 spans. If one was placing hunches one might think this was more about the Euro crisis,the American $$ banking regime implosion and who got/gets first grab rights on Libyan natural resources,gold reserves and markets/military maps tilting powers.

All three of these capitals now having clearly entered Libyan internal affairs in ways that if China or India or Turkey had done the same would have brought about pushback/dim views of it from WashingtonDC,Paris and London.
This all seems to have been done for and about who got to run Libya,how Libya now gets run and where Libya’s oil,water and gold were going or not going to be pointed and moved towards.
WashingtonDC at this point really had little or no standing to be going on about Gaddafi in light of the HellWorld Iraq was made into by Americans. Some severe war crimes now done by Americans appear to not be getting brought to justice or legal/political resolution. Both Bush and Obama have killed plenty of innocent civilians and children based on lies and dubious concepts of American Exceptionalism and Rights of DroneDeath Dealing.

Use of NATO as a smokescreen to make what Paris,London and WashingtonDC have now done to Libya seem what it is/was not is dishonesty afoot. NATO is a Division of Pentagon/CIA Inc. and when Paris or London use NATO it is done on American’s dime and time. Barack Obama tried to cover up his fingerprints on how Libya got set up for western re-colonization — where was he when this first came to light? — visiting South America with Obama acting like it was all a French/NATO thing when we know the Pentagon runs NATO.
The lies and cowardice involved to bring about Gaddafi being taken down and now killed off by Paris,London and WashingtonDC had/have little or nothing to do with what is good,noble or able to pass the Vampire Test of Sunlight.

Yet Barack Obama just went to UN to sabotage Palestinian UN efforts towards nationhood and prop up TelAviv which keeps ringing off Jerusalem from West Bank on basis that is not seen as legal.

What the heck are you talking about? The Libyan people are impoverished, while he funneled Libya’s wealth to himself. Maybe the people of his own tribe made out okay but everyone else? Not so much. Gaddafi was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent people. He was a monster. If he was such a benevolent ruler, why did Libyans rise up against him? I know not what life was like in Libya under Gaddafi for I have never been there and have never lived there.

This was too much like Bush’s claim to legitimate invasion of Iraq for me to be happy at what was being orchestrated by Obama. I don’t think we have the truth yet; but we do have suppression of information. Waiting to hear from some Libyans I can believe, as we did have coming out of Iraq. Amy seems very gungho on all of this, without having anything in depth so far that can convince me. I wish the people well; may we let them make their own way into a new future – the people, not us, not any outsiders. Foreboding is warranted, in my book.
