Classy. Cenk really sticks it to the condescending, sneering, elitist mockupier Erin Burnett.

Warning : coffee spill alert
I don’t have a transcript . But a sample : “she went from protecting Wall Street on CNBC to protecting Wall Street on CNN. Wow, what a change”. Besides explaining some bailout facts for elitist Erin, he reads few lines from the Declaration of the Occupation of New York City

yes but. . .
in the process, Cenk Uygur has won a battle of one-upmanship and lost the war.
His sarcastic hateful demeanor is no different from that of Erin Burnett’s. He looks like a mirror image of her.
Of course there is a difference in the content of their messages. Burnett only offered sarcasm, mockery and scorn–no substance.
Uygur had valid points but as far as I’m concerned, except for liberals they were lost. And in fact, I am a liberal but Uygur’s sarcasm, mockery and scorn turned me off. If that’s the best that Uygur can do to represent the progressive viewpoint, he needs to step out of the light.
Furthermore, unless they want to totally kill the occupy movement, those who support it need to stop mentioning names that are associated with the progressive movement such as Soros, and Sarandon and Michael Moore as they will turn a lot of people away who might otherwise join the majority.
This is a movement for the MAJORITY. Not a movement for Democrats. Not a movement for progressives. Not a movement for Liberals. not a movement for Conservatives. Not a movement for liberal Hollywood personalities.
Personalities and their endorsements should stay the hell out of this movement if they want the majority to win.
Addendum
Ralph Waldo Emerson said it very eloquently: “Who you are speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you are saying.”
As Edward R. Murrow said “Just because your voice reaches halfway around the world doesn’t mean you are wiser than when it reached only to the end of the bar.”
Polite goes a long way…but at some point getting snarky and angry is quite theraputic . Besides, that is his style. He gave me a nervous but mightily satisfying laugh.
We are offended by the insanely horrible things that our government is doing not only in our name, but with our tax dollars. If someone is offended by Michael Moore or Susan Sarandon, they will not be committed enough to commit to OWS.
The most alluring aspect of OWS is their humor and creativity. And their exuberant spirit. And inclusiveness.
Thank you Cenk!! This one is long due. Bravo!!
Wow, you are one Serious person.
Brilliant takedown of the corporate sockpuppet Burnett. Bravo Cenk.

So she is soon to be a Corporate Welfare Queen bride she must be so proud/s!
It’s about time that someone speaks with a loud voice. The Democrats always sound as if they are apologizing for something, Pelosi almost whispers, and Harry Reid looks as if he would rather be hiding. I long for the days of thundering rhetoric and table pounding. Give me LBJ and Sam Irwin and I’ll be happy.
What you suggest seems the equivalent of Obama trying to act calm & quiet with the tantrum throwing Repubs.
I would have agreed with you if Cenk had been short on substance but he was full of it.
I don’t know a lot about LBJ and Sam Irwin but as for Pelosi and Reid – they are the very definition of squishy liberals.
Cenk,
OOOOOOO (hugs of thanks!)
Great job shining the light.
