Here’s two videos making the connections between informed economic critique and the #Occupy movement/moment (I appear in some capacity in each of them).
The first is from Econ4.org; it’s a powerful video version of the Economists Statement in Support of Occupy Wall Street:
The second is an interesting attempt to provide a “”Crash” Course for Occupy Wall Street – Thirty Years in Thirteen Minutes”:

Thanks, Gar!
We get so entangled battling the perverse concentration of wealth and power, as we should, and we get so entranced evaluating alternative economic systems, as we should, and we get so absorbed with the urgency of safety net issues and the tyranny of poverty, as we should, that, somehow, we fail to free ourselves from the clutches of materialism and, in doing so, become its victims.
Highly recommended!
