NPR’s Melissa Block’s interview of Speaker Pelosi was a right-wing hatchet job disguised as an interview. Karl Rove could not have bested Melissa Block in style or content.

A few key points:

Ms. Block wanted to know if John Boener was correct in presuming that Pelosi had something to hide w/r/t CIA scandal. Pelosi suggested that Ms. Block should call Mr. Boner and interview him if she wanted to discuss his unfounded accusations.

Ms. Block wanted to know why Pelosi did not lead or call for an investigation whereby protocol requires that the head of the intelligence committee take the initiative.

Ms. Block used all the interview time attacking Pelosi on the CIA issue when much of the interview was supposed to be about the health care bill.

Maybe that was NPR’s goal. Eat up the clock and don’t address the health care issue and instead smear Pelosi.

To Speaker Pelosi’s credit, she handled the situation with the firm tone and aggressiveness that was required.

As for "Reporter" Melissa Block, she is a Republican sycophant and polemicist, but we already knew that.
