The truth. A lawyer who worked as an Assistant DA to Guliani once told told me "There is no truth, only argument." He was completely serious; I thought he was joking.

Think about it. Liber… excuse me, Progressives are OBSESSED with "the truth". Conservatives don’t care about the truth. Liber… sorry, Progressives think once the truth is established, well then "that’s that".

Now that you understand how Conservatives see the world (i.e. "truth" is a relative with a point of reference that is where ever convienient is). Maybe Progressives can take a lesson from the King of Conservatives, the Dick that’s trickier than Tricky Dicky, our beloathed XVP Dick "Less" Cheney.

The trick to understanding Cheney is this… The content of what he says doesn’t matter, only the degree of how "Wacky Conservative" it is. And he has, does and will always say something wacky. For instance: "Proud of what I did" i.e. torture. Iraq war, fear mongering etc. Ya know, ever little thing that he said that has caused self-inflicted-pre-mature baldness in Progressives. So what… Cheney says what he says in order to bring the conversation further to the right; the more wacky it is the more to the right the conversation moves. His word has a tremendous amount of weight in the media world, with a few extreme words, he has successfully moved the mean rheotoric to the right a few notches. What takes a Tea Party a whole march on Washington to do, Cheney can achieve with one sentence.

Now, if you get that then you’ll understand how the Left is just putty in his hands. That ain’t a snear on his face, that’s a snicker.
Liberals get their undies all in a bunch at what Cheney says (how many times have you found yourself at the proverbial watercooler saying "Did you hear what that fu@# Cheney said!"). He loves it, why because you’re simply assisting him in bring the conversation further right. Get it yet?

So…how do you use the Cheney Method to revive the Public Option (get whatever else liberals want out of congress). Bill Mahr eluded to it in the Huffington Post but of course Bill gets it wrong (just as aside, a lot of what Mahr says is like he’s looking a the world through a mirror… he’s looking at the right stuff but he doesn’t realize the reflection is reversed…anyway) Mahr suggested Dems have to "get in touch with their inner assholes" when really they have to get in touch with their inner Left Nuts.

Progressives NEED a Left Nut in the form of Liberal politician, talk show host, whatever that is willing to say stuff like… "Not only should Healthcare and Presciption Drugs be free to all US citizens, we should tax the shit out of the rich to pay for it…Tax all the Wall St CEO’s and traders, Insurance execs, HELL! They got the money." Or "Everyone who makes the average yearly wage or less should live tax free" Or "the Rich should pay for public education". The wackier the better. The idea is to bring to median of the conversation further back to the Left Now Obama shouldn’t be saying shit like "spread the wealth", that just makes everyone cringe, but Al Franken…yeah.

YOU WANT TO WIN THE WAR ON HEALTHCARE? Then bring the conversation back to the left. Let Fox News get all outraged by Al Franken saying "Free Pot for all Cancer Patients" instead of FDL regurgitating "You, lie!"
