Two articles in the Guardian (UK, formerly the Manchester Guardian and a workingman’s paper, printed on thin white paper with long articles, copies of which made it as far as NY and which may have had some influence on my intellectual outlook) the last two days relevant to my pieces:
First, Costas Lapavistas on the European economic prognosis: “Germany’s austerity plans will beggar Europe, Berlin’s mantra about spending cuts in the eurozone is bringing unemployment and spreading hopelessness across Europe.”

With all due respect, please read the TOS for My.fdl. Rules ask us not to post more than two diaries per day, or at least have two on the Recent Diaries list that accommodates only so many. If we most more, often times other posts get knocked off the list, so it’s a courtesy to others.
I know you probably weren’t aware of this, and newbies often post too often not knowing. Peace to you, Idbing. And you might want to suss out how to make links hot (look at the chain icon above the compose box menu.)
It took me a little while to learn how to do those links.
