The Grammar Text Book for USA politicians is Newspeak

7:00 am in Uncategorized by Liz Berry

Cross Post from IfLizWereQueen

The graphic above is one that I created over a year ago when I wrote an article on this same topic titled:  ” “Americans need an education in propaganda.”

The language of their communications and the description of their “solutions”–oral and written follows closely that of Newspeak.

Newspeak is a fictional language in George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. In the novel, it refers to the deliberately impoverished language promoted by the state. Orwell included an essay about it in  an appendix in which the basic principles of the language are explained. Newspeak is closely based on English but has a greatly reduced and simplified vocabulary and grammar. This suits the totalitarian regime of the Party, whose aim is to make any alternative thinking—”thoughtcrime”, or “crimethink” in the newest edition of Newspeak—impossible by removing any words or possible constructs which describe the ideas of freedom, rebellion and so on. One character from the book named Syme speaks admiringly of the shrinking volume of the new dictionary: “It’s a beautiful thing, the destruction of words.”

The whole purpose of Newspeak is to control thought by controlling language and by reducing all nuances of comparison to simple dichotomies such as pleasure and pain, happiness and sadness, goodthink and crimethink etc.

I’ve been thinking of Newspeak for the past week after reading a few days ago an article about Newt Gingrich using simplified language and speaking in dichotomies of good and evil–reserving, of course the good words for himself and the bad words for any who disagree with him–from President Obama to Mitt Romney.  The article also referred to a topic I wrote about over a year ago:  a GOPAC memo entitled “Language: A Key Mechanism of Control.” Distributed to GOP candidates across the country, the memo’s list of words for Democrats and words for Republicans was endorsed by Gingrich in a cover letter: “The words in that paper are tested language from a recent series of focus groups where we actually tested ideas and language.” Next time you hear Gingrich complain about media focusing on the negative, refer back to these lists.   Why do you think that the right-wing are so bent on English as the only language.  It has nothing to do with freedom and patriotism and everything to do with control.  Every American should learn at least one other language and speak it 50% of the time if they are interested in protecting democracy.

Today is the anniversary of the day that George Bush sold America’s Soul.

Now this morning I was reminded yet again of this insidious and intentional plot to control the masses by controlling our language and grammar.   Andrew Cohen has written an article titled “The Torture Memos, 10 Years Later.

Today, February 7, 2012 is the tenth anniversary of the day that George W. Bush signed a brief memorandum titled “Humane Treatment of Taliban and al Qaeda Detainees“.  The title of the memo was a perfect example of the deep elitist cynicism of George Bush and his administration.  The memo had nothing whatsoever to do with humane treatment.  Instead the memo authorized and directed the soulless formal abandonment of the USA’s commitment to key provisions of the Geneva Convention.

George Orwell’s 1984 is a dystopian novel about Oceania, a society ruled by the oligarchical dictatorship  in the Oceanian province of Airstrip One–a world of perpetual war, pervasive government surveillance, and incessant public mind control, accomplished with a political system which is administrated by a privileged Inner Party elite.*

*This description should make the scalps creep on all Americans who are paying even the slightest bit of attention as it so rings familiar as a description of the USA today.

You can stop voting for members of either party as both parties represent the same oligarchy.

Vote for Independents.  Vote for non-millionaitres.  Remove at least 44% of Congress from office in 2012–those would be the multimillionaires who consistently choose their stock portfolios over you year after year.

Who was the biggest liar last night? Gingrich or Romney?

8:53 am in Uncategorized by Liz Berry

Romney wins by a landslide for having told the most whoppers.  In other words, Romney is the biggest liar of them all by virtue of sheer volume.

- Romney lied about not voting for a Democrat if there was a Republican on the ballot — He voted for Paul Tsongas in a Democratic primary in 1992 in the same election where President George H.W. Bush faced Pat Buchanan. [SOURCE WIKI]

- He lied about telling us that he never said  his Massachusetts health care plan was a model for the nation — the truth is that he has often said it was.

- Romney claims that his great personal wealth is an asset to help America but he is not investing in America.  He has millions in offshore tax havens.  Such tax havens cost American taxpayers about $100 billion a year. [Source]

- Romney lied about saying that he would not kick all the illegal immigrants out of the country. He has more than once, even during this debate season, said that if he were elected that he not only would he kick them out, he would veto the Dream Act.

- Romney once again falsely accused Obama of saying “nothing” about the Palestinians launching rockets into Israel during a 2009 speech to the United Nations. [Here is a quote from Obama's 2009 address to the United Nations: "We must remember that the greatest price of this conflict is not paid by us. It’s not paid by politicians. It’s paid by the Israeli girl in Sderot who closes her eyes in fear that a rocket will take her life in the middle of the night. It’s paid for by the Palestinian boy in Gaza who has no clean water and no country to call his own."]

- Romney does not give a rat’s ass about the Latinos.  He even tried to make it sound like his father was a Mexican last night LOL.  Romney’s father was born in Chihuahua Mexico in 1907, the son of  USA Mormon missionaries.

Note: In my opinion, no candidate can say out of one side of his mouth that he is for the Latino community and then out of the other side of his mouth say that he would veto the Dream Act if he were president.  Under the Dream Act,  young undocumented immigrants who have lived most of their lives in the United States and graduate from U.S. high schools would be eligible for a conditional six-year “path to citizenship” if they earn a college degree or serve two years in the military.  Romney has said that he would veto this bill .

Another important point that the latinos of Florida especially should understand [from personal experience] is that people migrate to other countries illegally under duress and in a matter of life and death for one of three main reasons:  1) war and/or the threat of a dictator such as Castro; 2) Unfair trade agreements that push people off their land such as NAFTA an unfair trade agreement that decimated the mexican corn farmers who could not compete with the heavily subsidized US agribusinesses such as ADM and Cargill; 3) Crop failure because of climate change.  People should not be castigated for trying to survive.

Thus, when it comes to volume, Romney wins.  However, if the lie(s) are to be measured by magnitude + the depth of psychopathic calculation and deep-seated intent to deliberately deceive victims,  then Gingrich may hold the record for his lie that he balanced the budget

Yes Gingrich, with the assistance of a Republican Congress and Bill Clinton did balance the budget–on the backs of the working people of the USA.  They “balanced” the budget by dipping into Social Security funds.  [More details of that here.]

Of course, even Ron Paul left off the fact that while the majority of the working class pay Social Security tax on 100% of their income, the investor class don’t pay a dime of Social Security tax on amounts above $106,000 that they earn.

Speaking of Mitt’s Pseudo Latino Father, Newt gets a black mark for missed opportunity last night. Newt Gingrich is tying the wrong person to Saul Alinsky in his bizarre attacks on Barack Obama. BuzzFeed found old pictures of George Romney meeting with Saul Alinsky to discuss the grievances of the urban black poor.  [By the way, Saul Alinsky’s “crime” is was helping the poor to organized their communities. Saul Alinsky has been compared to Thomas Paine as being “one of the great American leaders of the nonsocialist left.”   MORE

One thing is certain:  the tales of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox pale in comparison to the tales told on the campaign trail.

The investor class and their new weapon of mass destruction: HUNGER

Cross Post from ILWQ

It is not the “hand of fate” that starves millions of people to death year in and year out.  Starvation is a condition that could totally be avoided.  Not a single human being on this planet should be starving to death.

Once again, I guess we can thank Newt Gingrich for opening his mouth again.  it seems like every time he opens his pie hole, he just digs a deeper hole for the investor class.  His horrible racist comments on food stamp recipients.  His revival of the Ronald Reagan specter of Reagan’s totally fabricated Black Welfare Queen has turned the nation’s attention to two more important topics for Americans:  racism and hunger.  Thank you, Newt. Whether you are aware of it or not,  whether you intended to or not, you nonetheless seem to be calling our attention to topics that really are important.  Last week you educated many of us regarding the true nature of hedge fund and private equity groups like Bain.  Now this week you are turning our attention to the issues of racism and hunger.

Now Newt, with his attempts to morph into a slightly chubbier version of Ronald Reagan, has inadvertently  broken the indecent silence on the topic of hunger.

“Every five seconds, a child under 10 dies of hunger.  – Thirty-five million people die each year from hunger or its immediate aftermath. – One billion people are permanently and severely malnourished and the situation is becoming increasingly catastrophic.” (Jean Ziegler)

In his latest book “Mass Destruction – the Geopolitics of Hunger”, Jean Ziegler talks about the current state of the world and the neoliberal politics of starvation of the poor, which has led to a crisis situation amounting to calculated murder. What we are witnessing today is the worst hunger crisis in human history is. And it is all because of human greed, colossal mismanagement for profit.

Professor Ziegler deals in detail with the various causes of the current worldwide hunger disaster, which could have been avoided. This crisis is not determined by fate – or, to use Ziegler’s own word – ‘La famine n’est pas une fatalité’. The world could perfectly well provide food for 12 million people, almost the double of the present population of 7 million.

So what made this murderous situation possible where thousands of people are dying (37,000 every day) from lack of food and clean water? La famine n’est pas une fatalité. It could have been avoided. It should not be happening.

The agroindustry is killing off small farmers – some countries are fighting back

The goals of the ‘cold monsters’ (les monstres froids) of the agroindustry, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Cargill and Bunge, et al. is to suck the life out of small farmers all over the world, especially in Africa and southern Asia. ”

Newt Gingrich is jumping on the Old Reagan Racist Bandwagon of Hate

An IlWQ Pie Hole Award for Newt Gingrich

Shades of racist Ronald Reagan’s lies about his fake Black Welfare Queen!

The Conservatives and all Americans who give a damn about human decency need to be reminded that Ronald Reagan’s Black Welfare Queen was no more real than the Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq were real–both are just big whoppers brought to us by conservatives ideologues that ended up harming millions of people–most of them women and children.  Newt Gingrich and all the conservative talk show hosts who are jumping on the bandwagon of calling President Obama the Food stamp president are no better than racist thugs who are obviously more interested in proving their racist theories and stirring up racist hatred among the ignorant than they care about telling the truth.  Anything goes to deflect the heat from their own greedy asses.

1.  Obama is NOT the Food Stamp President. George Bush is.

FACT: During Bush’s Presidency 14.7 million NEW people were put on Food Stamps.   During President Obama’s presidency 14.2 million people are on food stamps and not all of them are new. To listen to Newt Gingrich you would think that Obama’s plan is to put poor people on food stamps.  That’s a lie–a damned lie.
[WXIA 11 Alive News in Atlanta has checked the facts: "The highest in history so far is President George W. Bush. The number of food stamp recipients grew to nearly 14.7 million while he was in office." That's 500,000 higher than the peak under President Obama.]

2. Even though the Depression/Recession has proportionally affected a larger portion of the Black population than the White population, more white people are on Food Stamps than Black People. [Note: According to CNN Money, Black unemployment soared to 16.7% in August of 2011--about twice the rate of the national average.]

But when asked what he would do about the food stamp issue, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said yesterday he is willing to go before the NAACP and urge blacks to demand paychecks instead of food stamps. He didn’t say he would go before the white people–even though it is the majority of them who are on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)–not black people.

But here are some more even sadder facts:  47% of all Americans on food stamps are children. But I guess coming from the leader of a party who took away hot lunch programs for children during Reagan’s presidency we shouldn’t expect any empathy from a bunch who don’t give a damn if children go hungry.

3. On the topic of telling poor people to “demand paychecks”, here is yet another salient fact that is ignored by Gingrich and his gang:

Most of the people on SNAP  (The program is officially called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program [SNAP].)

Most of the people on SNAP do work–However, they are not paid a living wage.  Getting a paycheck is not enough.  You must earn a paycheck that is sufficient to put a roof over one’s head and feed ones family.  But this is NOT going to happen as long as the investor class are allowed to take more than their fair share from the paychecks of the 77%–those of us who live from paycheck to paycheck.

Two parts that Gingrich and the conservative talk show hosts over look:

1.  First there have to be jobs.
2.  Second, these jobs must pay a living wage.

These conservatives love to bash European nations. but the truth is that if you work in Europe you are paid enough money to support yourself and your family.  This is not true in the USA.  Just ask all the part-time workers–another corporate scheme to keep labor costs down.  Don’t hire full time workers.  Then you don’t have to pay them benefits and a living wage–more money for the investor class like Gingrich, Romney, the conservative talk show hosts and the majority of the U.S. Congress.

A Job in the USA is no Guarantee of a Living Wage

Just because you work in the USA, it is no guarantee that you can earn enough money to support yourself, much less a family.  There is a minor detail called “living wages.”

Conservatives like Romney and Gingrich love to bash European nations for their “socialism.”  However, not only are poverty rates lower in all western European countries  than in the USA, they all have fewer working poor than we do.

Why Newt Gingrich is the Great White Hope for the Republicans

7:21 am in Uncategorized by Liz Berry

Cross Post from IfLizWereQueen

I’m not at all surprised by Gingrich’s rise in the polls.  The American People realize that it will take a bold, intelligent leader to make things better–someone who is willing to shake things up in a big way.  And at the moment, that’s more than either Obama or Romney seem to realize.  You need to take their pulses to determine if either of  them are still breathing.

The USA is not likely to  get better fast enough to save a lot of drowning people without a bold leader with bold, specific, new and credible solutions who  is able to stand up to the establishment and fight for the 99%.

Many Americans I talk to believe that it will take someone who is a fighter and a screamer like Lyndon Johnson who is willing to make waves and crack heads–perhaps someone a little crazy and grandiose–not some pious religious fanatic like Rick Santorum who criticized Gingrich for being grandiose and not a Wall Street yes man like Obama who gives away the farm even before negotiation have begun as he did with health care insurance and certainly not someone like Mitt Romney, an avowed plutocrat.

The tepid leadership of Barack Obama has been great for Wall Street investors as many of them have more than doubled their wealth (including Congressional members) over the past three years. However, his leadership and his hand selected,  Harvard and Yale graduated Wall Street groomed cabinet and administration have not been nearly enough for the 99%. His campaign team still don’t get it because they have surrounded themselves with people who  agree with them–people who like them belong to the Wall Street invested 1%.

The tepid leadership of a mealy-mouthed private equity plutocrat like Mitt Romney certainly would not be enough.  After all, why vote for someone who looks so much like the current President we have–especially in his unabashed support of Wall Street.  The people realize this and that is why Romney is losing South Carolina with its 9.9% unemployment and why Gingrich is winning.

Gingrich Needs to Work on His Solutions for the USA

But if he wants to win, Gingrich is going to have to do a lot better than offer Associates Degrees for unemployed workers as he suggested in one of  the debates:  He is going to have to be able to offer the unemployed jobs that pay a living wage.

The problem in the USA is not lack of education, nor is it an unwillingness for Americans to go to work.  Ask a friend of mine who holds a Masters degree and is working as a checker at a WalMart in Houston.  Ask any one of the 1,000 people who last fall applied for four jobs at a McDonalds.  I’m sure there were several hundred of them who even had four year degrees.  Tell me how an Associates degree is going to help them obtain a non-existent job.

Gingrich and Clinton’s welfare reform act was one of the cruelest examples of “bipartisan” leadership in the history of our nation and few Americans realize what really happened.  Gingrich is going to have to do better than offer solutions such as his and Clinton’s Welfare Reform Act.  Peter Edelman, a Clinton appointee was so disgusted over the injustice of this bill that he resigned over it, calling the bill  the worst thing that Clinton had ever done [ Rwanda must have slipped his mind and of course this was before the "Bank Modernization Act of 1999".]

The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) was passed August 22, 1996–just in time for Clinton’s presidential campaign that year. PRWORA instituted Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). which became effective July 1, 1997. TANF replaced Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program.  TANF put a time limit on poverty.  It gave the poor parents (usually just one parent in these families) assistance for 2 years.  After that, if they didn’t have a job–tough luck.  No more help.  The rug is jerked out from beneath them.  This is justice?  This is humanity?

Making people work instead of keeping them on the dole sounds great and fair and few Americans including me would argue that..  However if there are no jobs to be had, what the hell good is an education and what are these parents going to do. Even more basic, what are their children going to eat?

At the beginning of his first term Bill Clinton passed NAFTA (with the assistance of Rahm Emmanuel shoving it down the throats of reluctant Congressional members).  Then throughout the Clinton presidency, they turned a blind eye as Wall Street cooked the books and inflated the value of stocks–particularly for all the newly formed dot com tech companies.  Clinton’s parting gift to the 1% and Wall Street investors was the deregulation of the  financial system of the USA with the “Bank Modernization Act of 1999″.

But back to the “welfare reform” and its time line.  USA Trade agreements like NAFTA hit the people of the other countries hardest first.  There is lag time in the USA, a lull before the American people feel the full brunt of such one-sided agreements for the rich of both countries.  Within the first two years after the passage of NAFTA, the Mexican corn farmers were decimated.  They could not complete with the heavily subsidized USA corporations such as ADM and Cargill.  As the Mexican corn farmers failed, so did hundreds of other cottage industries whose prosperity depended on the corn farmer.  Within two years inflation had gone through the roof and thousands of Mexicans were out of work.  They did what all citizens of a nation do when they are displaced by war, famine or unfair trade agreements that decimate their local economies:  They migrate.  From 1996 to 2000 the illegal immigrant population in the USA swelled from just under 2 million (which it had been for almost 10 years) upwards to estimates as high as 15 million.

TANF became active in 1997–just in time for the USA to start feeling the full impact of NAFTA in our own country.  It is estimated by most reliable sources that by 1998 NAFTA had resulted in the loss of over 2 million jobs for Americans.  Then the crash of the dot com bubble brought more job losses.  So here these people are, mostly young women with children under the age of five with their training and associates degrees but no jobs to be had.

Newt’s not going to win by regurgitating solutions from the 1990′s–or if he does, he is not going to make any more difference for the 99% than Obama has.

We’ve been living with an administration for three years who have been reliving the Clinton solutions from the 1990′s so we already know that doesn’t work.

“Viscous Attack on the Press”? Stop whining John King. You all deserve that and more!

6:32 am in Uncategorized by Liz Berry

Cross Post from IfLizWereQueen

King, a pundit for the Corporate State doesn’t like being called on his stuff.

I don’t like Gingrich, but my dislike of him is based on real issues of legislation that he pushed while he served in Congress–not whether he asked his wife for an open marriage years ago.  What the hell does that have to do with me or the quality of my life today?  What business is that of mine?  Absolutely nothing!  If I had been in that crowd of Republicans last night, I would have been giving Gingrich a standing ovation for his attack on King right along with the rest of them.

Like most Americans, I don’t have time for gossip sessions that look more like an episode of the New York Housewives than a presidential debate.  Regardless what another network was doing, CNN and John King should have risen above such topics but why would we expect anything different from the  SAME corporate media who in March of 2008 spent an entire week analyzing and dissecting a 15 second sound bite from a rant of Obama’s minister while ignoring the significance of the real news that unfolded that same week–the disintegration of Bear Stearns and the loss of 50,000 jobs for Americans in one week–now that was news that should have been discussed–instead it got barely a mention.  In fact in a study done by the Pew Research Center in March of 2008, they reported that 21% of the American people even had heard of what happened to Bear Stearns (a huge turning point in our economy) while 49% reported that they had seen the 15 second sound bite of the Reverend Wright.

The Corporate State media push these non-issues because that is the way they want to steer the discussions of the American people–away from topics that matter.

The millionaire pundits of the corporate media don’t give a damn about the 99%.  They all belong to the 1% who are obviously pushing Romney–and why?  Because Romney is the darling of the corporate state set.  He will stand up and tout Wall Street as “the American Way.”  With Obama and Romney running “against” each other it will be a case of “heads I win, tails you lose” for the 1%.

Gingrich is a wild card.  He has already dared to challenge the leadership of the Republican Party, the corporate state,  and their 1% club by daring to educate the American people regarding Private Equity companies like Bain Capital and a multimillionaire like Romney who has paid 15% of his vast income in taxes for years while railing against the 35% that is supposed to pay–as if he ever has.

You go Gingrich! I hope you carry South Carolina by a landslide!  You may be another BSer like the rest of them, but you are the closest thing the Republicans have to a Populist.  One thing is for certain:  With Gingrich as the opponent, Barack Obama would be vetted.  In fact, Gingrich might make it possible for a third party or Independent candidate to win.

Ron Paul?  Don’t make me laugh!  He is the biggest 1% hypocrite of them all. He votes against trade agreements and rails against the War on Drugs–while at the same time he stuffs his own pockets with money made possible by trade agreements and the War on Drugs.

Paul has most of his $5million personal wealth invested in mining companies all over the world.  Over the past three years, as our jobs and lives have slid into economic oblivion, Paul has made over a million dollars on his mining investments from mining companies that hire militarized police paid for with our tax dollars from the War on Drugs to murder workers who dare to strike for living wages and safe working conditions.

The Corporate State Media want Mitt so bad they are working their propaganda mill overtime trying to churn out influence.

This is a perfect example of their propaganda from AOL Huffington Post that was published yesterday, January 19 2012.  These headlines appeared just above the following video.  If you are in a hurry, as most Americans are, and  you just read the biggest print, you are left with the impression that Mitt Romney is leading in South Carolina by 36% and that’s a lie.  That screen capture that was featured in an HP article yesterday (Jan 19)  is actually from the New Hampshire primary a week ago.

This was published in AOL HUFFINGTON POST YESTERDAY for the sole purpose of deceiving the American people into thinking that Mitt Romney is leading the South Carolina Primary with 36% of the vote which is not true.  Most polls are now reporting that he is neck and neck with Gingrich and some polls such as the Rasmussen are reporting Gingrich ahead.

Example of the US Corporate State Sponsored Propaganda:

[No, Mitt Romney is NOT ahead by 36% in South Carolina.  This is a week old video from last week's New Hampshire contest repacked by AOL Huffington Post to seem as if they are reporting on the SC primary.]

This cheap shot from the January 19, 2012 AOL Huffington Post was no accident.  It was carefully calculated to leave the impression that Romney is leading by 36% in South Carolina which he is not:

Republican Candidates don’t seem to notice they are standing on a Bridge to Nowhere

7:03 am in Uncategorized by Liz Berry

Cross Post from IfLizWereQueen

The Twisted Perspective from the Republican Podium Last Night

The crowd of millionaire yahoos who were cheering them on at the debate last night didn’t seem to notice either  that they too were standing on a bridge to nowhere with the candidates–cheering them on as they offered the American people cake instead of bread and butter.

The rhetoric sounded great.  It even had a ring of compassion to it as they offered education instead of unemployment for 99 weeks . . . as long as one ignored the most salient fact of all:  There is a huge shortage of jobs in the USA–even jobs that don’t even pay a living wage.  The problem is not that people who are out of work are not educated.  The problem isn’t that these people don’t have skills.  The problem is not that people are not willing to work sh$% jobs–just ask one of my friends who has a Masters degree in psychology and is working as a checker at WalMart.

The problem is that there are no jobs for these millions of Americans who are out of work–not that they are not educated and not that they are not willing to work for jobs that are way beneath their skill levels.  What part of the stories of 1,000 American applying for one crappy job at McDonalds are they not hearing?  What part of the stories of kids out of college (4 year schools) who can’t find jobs hasn’t Newt heard?

But then, no one can do willful blindness quite as well as the rich.  It made the candidates all look good to talk about educating people.  ”We don’t want to give handouts.  We want to give hand ups.”   Speaking of education, I noticed that there was no talk of their private school voucher plans to replace public schools. They kept their rich pieholes shut  about that, didn’t they?   If most of these asses had their way, they would completely dismantle public education, thus making education only affordable to the rich.  They are about as much for educating the multitudes as Louie XVI.

Furthermore, there is a shortage of jobs because people who agree with the Republican and Democrat Wall Street  philosophy of “the American Way” have shipped the jobs overseas.

I could only watch about 10 minutes of their bull s&% debate last night before I turned off the idiot box.  It is difficult to tell who was the most disgusting–the million dollar paid Fox pundits asking their loaded right wing questions, the millionaire candidates self-righteosly delivering the standard and irrelevant party line, or the Myrtle Beach millionaire audience cheering them on.

The quip that finally sent me over the edge and moved me to end the nonsense that was pouring into my den came from Newt Gingrich who said in response to 99 weeks of unemployment:  ”99 weeks?  that’s an Associates Degree.”   The crowd of course went wild with self-righteous applause.  Of course, none of the Fox News pundits bothered to ask:  ”And then Newt, where are the jobs that these newly educated Americans would be working at?  If my friend with a Masters degree in psychology and millions more like her with Bachelors degrees now can’t find jobs, what the hell makes you think that people with an Associates degree will have any better luck?”

This crap coming out of the mouth of a man who along with Bill Clinton, put a time limit on poverty for single parents and limited aid to their dependent children.  Oh they “educated” them all right–for sh*& jobs.  But then NAFTA, which they had passed a few years prior, kicked in just about the time these poor women got their associates degrees and certificates. Millions of the sh*% jobs that these poor people were trained for with their “education” programs were shipped out of the USA.  Of course the people could move to US border cities like El Paso and work across the border in Mexico for the USA maquiladoras for $65 a week–no not per day, per week.  That is the typical wage.

Don’t get me started.  Why don’t any of these pundits have the nerve to ask:  ”If tax breaks for the rich is the solution then why, after 11 years of the Bush tax cuts is our economy still in the toilet?”  What’s wrong with that picture, jackass?

How much more does the American taxpayer have to fork over?   Not only do many corporations like Exxon and General Electric not pay US income tax on their billions of profit, the American people give them back millions of dollars in tax rebates.  ABSURD!

Here’s another reality check.  In November of 2011 we have this report: Using information from the companies’ own corporate filings, however, the study concluded that a quarter of the 280 corporations owed less than 10 percent of profits in federal income taxes and 30 companies had no federal tax liability for the entire three-year period.  10% income tax rate!   I daresay that not a single member of the 99% who are still lucky enough to have a job have EVER only paid 10% of their income in taxes.

Please!  Where is the pundit with the balls to ask any of these jackasses–Democrats and Republican alike:  What percentage of YOUR income do you pay in federal income tax?  I doubt that any of the candidates standing on that stage last night–all of whom are multimillionaires–have EVER ONCE in their life paid the 35% of their income in taxes as they should.  But that doesn’t stop them from pretending that they and other millionaires like them pay it.

A flat rate tax is NOT an equitable tax–again another part of willful blindness of the rich.  It puts an unfair burden on the poor.  If I earn $30,000 and I am taxed at a rate of 25%, that means that I pay $7,500 of my income in Federal taxes.  This amount of money severely impacts me to meet basic needs such as food, housing, health care, education etc. and cripples my ability to rise up.

If my income is $1,000,000 and I am taxed at 25%  I pay $250,000.  I still have $750,000 left.  Does this seriously impact my food budget, my ability to send my children to private school, my ability to continue to live in my home, my current life style, etc.?

Americans are not asking for handouts.  They are asking for justice and a level playing field.

44% of Congress are multimillionaire Wall Street investors who vote for their stock portfolios instead of for the American people.  These people have been entrenched for 10, 20, and some even 30 years or more.

These people are more important than the President.  These people are more important than the goons who sit on the Supreme Court.  These are the people who write the laws.  Yes, the President can veto their laws and the Supreme Court can rule against their laws, but both of these powers are after the fact powers.  And, furthermore, Congress has the power to override their decisions and they also have the power to impeach the President and any Supreme Court justice.  The real power is in the hands of those we send to Congress.

We have the power to change the people we send to Congress with our votes.  If you want someone who will represent the 99%, then start voting for candidates from the 99% and stop voting for multimillionaire Democrats and Republicans. It really is as simple as that.

If you want someone different in the White House, then stop voting for either a Democrat or a Republican and choose someone from the 99%.  We have a choice this year and her name is Jill Stein.  You may not agree with everything she says, but I guarantee that she would be more representative of the majority than either Obama or whatever the cats drag up for the Republican candidate.

Stop doing the same thing and hoping for different results.  Take a chance and vote outside BOTH parties in 2012.  It’s the only way that the USA can be restored.

The Republican leadership is really out of touch if they run Gingrich.

If the Republican leadership think that the majority of Republicans would vote for a man who suggests that poor children should clean toilets, then they are totally whacked out of all awareness of life outside the Beltway.

Think Progress reports that:

“Conceding ever so slightly to flak he’s taken for calling child labor laws “stupid” and suggesting that schools fire janitors and replace with them poor kids, GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich got more specific today, saying working-class students should be limited to jobs like cleaning bathrooms. Bowing to concerns that janitorial work is dangerous, Gingrich floated, “What if they became assistant janitors and their jobs were to mop the floor and clean the bathroom?”

Flush Newt Gingrich down the toilet and make Eric Cantor, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner scrub the toilet bowl afterward with muriatic acid.

From “Ask the Builder Newsletter” The normal toilet bowl cleaners you get at the grocery often don’t have the power to really clean a toilet. You may need to use muriatic acid. PHOTO CREDIT: Tim Carter

Pondering Newt’s current reign as favorite candidate.

Herman Cain’s philandering is not OK, but Newt’s philandering is?

Newt Gingrich is a Shining Star of Moral Hypocrisy — Will evangelicals vote for that?  The Republicans appear to be applying their notion of Philanderers rather discriminately:

It’s Not OK for a black guy to be a philanderer.

It’s Not OK for a Democrat to be a philanderer.

It’s perfectly ok for an ugly fat white guy to be a philanderer.

What is behind that kind of thinking?

All good questions that Robert Scheer ponders in a recent column he wrote titled Government-Sponsored Sinner.

Sheer points out that serial philanderer Newt Gingrich betrayed not one but two wives while they were enduring serious medical difficulties.  Additionally, Gingrich was carrying on an affair with a congressional staff member 27 years his junior during the same years that he shamelessly stoked the Clinton sex scandal.

However Gingrich’s sexual hypocrisy is not the only glaring example of hypocrisy that this toad has exhibited.

How is he going to make one of the standard Republican talking points  that government-sonsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac forced the poor banks into making bad housing loans.  You see, Gingrich was on the payroll of Freddie Mac to the tune of $1.6 million.

A Trip down Memory Lane:  January 22, 1999 Gingrich was disciplined (by a Republican majority Congress) for ethical wrongdoing.  Gingrich admitted to it.  It’s not like he can cry foul play.

The House voted overwhelmingly yesterday to reprimand House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) and order him to pay an unprecedented $300,000 penalty, the first time in the House’s 208-year history it has disciplined a speaker for ethical wrongdoing.

The ethics case and its resolution leave Gingrich with little leeway for future personal controversies, House Republicans said. Exactly one month before yesterday’s vote, Gingrich admitted that he brought discredit to the House and broke its rules by failing to ensure that financing for two projects would not violate federal tax law and by giving the House ethics committee false information.

But then It takes a liar and a hypocrite to Serve the Wall Street Masters.

But then a liar and a hypocrite seem to be the stuff that Presidents are made of so perhaps Gingrich, as the most practiced and eloquent liar and hypocrite of all the Republican candidates, has the best chance. Perhaps the Republicans know what they are doing after all. But they should be very careful in making their choice because most studies indicate that  philanderer only dally more as their power increases.  Newt is not going to stop. Apparently his wife is smart (or insecure) enough to realize this since she insists on being copied on all his emails and she pitches a fit if he is to stay overnight on the campaign trail.

But hey!  Perhaps the Gingrich candidacy is the biggest scam of all to come out of our one-party system. What greater excuse for not passing meaningful legislation for the American people than to have a sex scandal to consume all legislative  activities of Congress and our Wall Street owned and sponsored corporate media–Americans glued to the television watching the latest titillating story of the toad’s latest sexual exploit–cheap programming and skyrocketing ratings.

Perhaps another Ken Star is lurking in the wings, hoping for a Gingrich victory.  Perhaps one has already been selected by the Republican/Democrat corporation known as “the commission on Presidential Debates”  (a group that Walter Winchell referred to as “the greatest scam ever perpetuated on the American voter.”  Yes, folks we are a nation of one party.  However, their propaganda is so well-crafted that most Americans still believe the two-party myth.

ESCAPE AT LEAST MOST OF THE LIES BY VOTING FOR AN INDEPENDENT, NON MILLIONAIRE, NON WALL STREET STOCK-OWNING AMERICAN IN 2012. Yes there will be some duds among them, but it won’t be nearly the 100% ratio that you are sure to find among either the Democrat or Republican candidates or a millionaire Wall Street stock owning candidate.

Run for office yourself.  Support an independent candidate in your district, municipality or state.  Work on their campaign.  Help them win.  Nothing will change until we clean house (both of them) in Washington D.C.
