Can there be satire about Occupy Wall Street that doesn’t denigrate Occupy Wall Street? We think so.
Hosted by Julianna Forlano, The Ironic News Report is a satirical news parody that skewers politics and current events.
This week’s edition covers Herman Cain, The Vatican, and Occupy Wall Street.

I soooo love these!!!!!
Haha, for once at a MacDonald’s, more crap is coming out of people than going in…. funny stuff!!
Ironic News is much appreciated.
Recommended to all sane, rational, and honest human beings possessed of a funny bone.
It’ll tickle your fancy!!!
My sincere, “Thank you!!!”, to all at Ironic News.

Easily as funny and insightful as Jon Stewart.
“The logistics of this protest bother me.”
“They bother me,” this century’s “Let them eat cake.”
“Newt Gingrich is once again running for president”
“And in related news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.”
Hey Onion, you’ve got some competition!
I can’t believe they ran that pic of Herman’s Big Sausage pizza!
Funny stuff.
Hate to be a critic, but it seems it’s my fate, and yours. So sorry.
In the first place, if you want to parody a newscaster, you need to deliver the news in an almost monotone; you over-act it like an amateur actor might, i.e.: too many octaves in your delivery trying to help listeners grok what they’re supposed to laugh about. (See Ari Melber on Dylan Ratigan for a ‘how-not-to’ lesson.) You sacrifice any claim of ‘irony’ with too much emotionally-driven attempts at ‘teh funny’. You’re not confident or content with your material; it’s understandable. ‘The Ladies’ Man’ you borrowed paid some homage to true comedy; ya might to watch more good comics. We need funny now more than ever.
Ah well…I deleted the rest. The others think you’re funny, so I’ll hit the road.
I think Julianna’s delivery is raw and honest. I like it that way. She reminds me of the cynical voice in my own head, only with a real face and snort-inducing expressions.

I clicked on your link thinking you had put something there …
I saw you had enjoyed her; I just don’t happen to, and I love comedy and comics.
Irony is about subtlety, as in: the world, or an event, does not bear out explicitly what it promised incipiently’…or however John Irving described it. This is not that. Comedy is best when the listener groks the understated humor; this is bashing one with the implications, not allowing us to choose.
But I’ll leave it alone, and not go further. As I said, my take will be unwelcome. Except to repeat, the voice is wrong for *the news*.
Shouldda kept my own counsel, and I would have, except that humor is really important to my life and survival, and this hit me so wrong. I was depressed after a long day of bad news, and had hoped there was something here.
Not trying to be a bitch, it just happens I might be one.
great stuff, thanks very much.
Thanks for the input all. It is ok if it is not for you, Wendy.
We get that it is not for some people. Maybe you’ll like a future episode…maybe not. Either way we wish you well.
Oh we should totally buy that and set it up as a website!!! HAHAHAHA!
Got it. You could click on my user name, see my archives here for the past year. Wondering if I’m a troll cuz I don’t find you funny: Now that’s funny! (Although you didn’t mean it as such…)
