Bob Dylan . . .

Then she opened up a book of poems and handed it to me, written by an Italian poet from the 13th century, and every one of them words rang true, and glowed like burning coal, pouring off of every page, like it was written in my soul, from me to you.

That’s the kind of writing we need, every word ringing true, every sentence ablaze with the fire of resistance, defiance of corrupt politicians pouring off of every page of every progressive website. That’s what we need.  From everyone.  What needs to be written, what needs to be said, what needs to be done is glaringly obvious.  Unfortunately, as you all know, there are “progressive leaders” with other agendas.

The Sage of San Jose . . .

There are some people who won’t ever be happy,” Moulitsas said. “Dennis Kucinich could be elected, and they won’t be happy. Their perception of what should happen isn’t realistic. Those people are aligned with – have an ideological rigidity very similar to the Tea Party movement.

Perceptions.  OK.  Let’s talk about perceptions.  I remember when Rosa Parks perceived that she wasn’t going to ride in the back of the fucking bus anymore.  I remember when Dr. King perceived that  ”a nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.”  I remember when “realists” like Moulitsas told us we couldn’t Impeach Bush no matter how many crimes he committed, I remember when he got his Newsweek column and I remember why he got it, I remember him banning everyone who tried to post warnings about the “realistic” voting machines of Diebold and Sequoia and ES&S, I remember him banning everyone seeking the truth about 9/11.  Look in the mirror, Kos.  You’ll see everything that’s wrong with the Netroots staring right back at you.

It’s gratifying to see that activists like OPOL are still telling the truth in that Obamabot echo chamber Kos calls a website.

One Pissed Off Liberal . . .

Dissent, which has been called the highest form of patriotism, may well be on its last legs in this country. It is now impossible to organize any kind of opposition, no matter how innocent or righteous, without government spooks breathing down your neck. Surveillance quashes dissent…all dissent. Just remember who the government thinks is a threat: peace activists, dissidents, kids who dare object to the raw deal being crammed down their throats

A lot of people want desperately to believe that our government is a bunch of really good guys simply doing their best to keep us safe from the terrorists. It’s understandable that people want to believe that but pretty fucking outrageous that anyone actually does.

Here are a few clues: Gulf of Tonkin.  Watergate.  ‎Iran-Contra.  Iraq.  Gitmo.  Abu Ghraib.  SCOTUS 2000.  George W. Bush.  Total Information Awareness.  The USA Patriot Act.

There’s some ideological rigidity for you, Kos.  Set your polling toys aside for a minute or two and take a good look at it.  Chronic warmongering, pervasive war profiteering, systematic corruption, entrenched deceit, massive surveillance, relentless expansion of police state power, escalating persecution of dissent, off-the-charts media propaganda, a total war on whistleblowers, blood on the tracks everywhere we look.

God only knows why “some people” aren’t happy about that.   What a bunch of whiners, all they do is complain while Obama makes the tough decisions that keep us safe and enable the job creators to expand their wealth, while at the very same time he’s judiciously striking a balance between national suicide and national self-annihilation.

Thank you for having the moral courage to speak out against those sniveling second-guessers, Kos.   They must not understand that it’s not fascism when Obama does it.   Do they want Republicans to win the next election and destroy everything Democrats have achieved for us since 1980?  Do they want Ted Cruz in the White House, informing America in his inaugural address that we’ve always been at war with the Islamist Islamic Muslims, ever since the Barbary Pirates sank the Mayflower in 1620 and the Pilgrims had to swim the rest of the way?

I can’t tell you what to do about all this, I’m just a ragged seeker of truth, standing by the side of the road, rain falling on my shoes.  But I have that book of poems with me and I’m going to share it with every soul I meet.
