Is This the “Native American/Chicano/Liberal” Box for Escaping Poverty?
For those of us here in theSonoranDesert, when we view our nation’s politics, we caution carefulness since Common Sense, becomes demystified. Of course, I am speaking of our opposition to the tiresome scribbles that constantly emanate from the “Old and Tired White Dudes” Construct and the Attending Sycophants.
However, we, the Native Americans and the Chicanos well-understand that with new “ideas” comes political activism and which pays dividends to the like-minded. As such, with health care and the Affordable HealthCare Act, times change and we will continue our tirade of political activism on behalf of establishing “open access” to all from and for Medicare, the VA and the Indian Health Services.
As for the generic idea that needs to be implemented for “escaping poverty” can easily be accomplished with our “academic-military draft” in which a three-year enlistment leads to a minimum of a two-year Associate Arts Degree in Liberal Arts. Thus, completing the third and fourth-year of academics, is easily accomplished from having learned early-on that hard work and self-discipline is a character-building trait of immense consequence.
Therefore, when I “see” and “listen” to the conservatives wailing on about “governmental assistance” to the “slackers” I tend to fall into the trance from whence I find it difficult to imagine that a conservative from the Sonoran Desert would participate, since the nativist or anti-Brown hobby/behavior overpowers all clear-headed thinking, but that too is our America, especially when seen from the standpoint of America’s “decline and collapse” and as is being espoused by today’s conservatives.
In short, now that we have undergone our vote for America’s “conservative” Democrat, organizing ourselves to “challenge” America with a forthright Progressive located among our Democratic Coalition for the 2016 presidential cycle, I find that there a many capable and astute candidates available. Consequently, who do you see as an enviable(s) candidate that can appeal to the citizen/activists here in the Southwest and able to garner the requisite 270 Electoral College votes?
And please don’t mention Vice-President Biden!

You got me. I’m stumped. I can’t think of a single one. But then again, I’m not a Democrat.
Don’t know yer turf hoss but a great read and thots and posits.
As always, rcc’d, from here in the vapid wastelands of thegodforsakenvalleythattimeforgot.
;-)
Oh, BTW, did ya note we here in CA got ourselves a real and legal super majority in the state Assembly and Sentate, therby obviating the stranglehold and death grip the GOP put upon my golden state when Prop 13 was enacted in the mid 70′s, and also mandated a 2/3 legislature majority in order to PASS fucking legislation.
Which means, more laws for less taxes for the rich were passed, and our state’s revenues fell so far as to DOOM The California Dreamin we had, whence ONCE we stood upon the throne of free and MIGHTY education for all. You know, when Reagan was our Gov.
But now, shit’s changed, and I smell the distinct vapors of change in the winter aires during our present political respite, but lo come the new year, CA may once again regain fuller employment (from the ACA alone the state has to add 2 or 3 or more thousands of jobs) as we the people and our erected offals now MIGHT move on to the more equitable side of life wherein corps and the fucking rich are taxed fairly, state coffers fill, and SHIT AND STUFF gets finally fucking done for education, streets, hiways, basic water and electricity infrastructure, infusions to green and alt energies are heaped upon the capitalistic platter of incentives, and well, unicorns and rainbow glitter out their asses and all that.
There’s hope, cuz hoss, no offense to you honest and delightful and essential denizens of The Sonoran Desert, the old adage just MIGHT come to bear fruit once again, post Reagan’s Slochhauz Femph reign over CA ’72-’80, and his Supreme Reaming Nationally ’80-’88.
As CA goes, so goes the nation.
May dawg help us all, and may coyote and raven laff and smile with and at us, as they play their trickster games upon us for our own edification and learning.
We either learn, or we die.
Sonaran Desert or CA Cities Of Gold, we all die if we don’t learn and adapt.
Best to all, you, and yers Jaango. Keep them cards and letters a comin . . . it’s winter and yer fonts are of great warmth and comfort in the gloom.

I am sorry that I don’t have a suggestion for a 2016 candidate, but I am impressed with the resolve of an Eastern European female friend who has enlisted (despite my urging to find another way) in the US Marines to take the path of least resistance to her, to gain US citizenship. Crazy freaking world all around.
Thanks for your valued perspective jaango.
Ohio Barbarian,
My good friend, even Socialists have to come in from the cold, and in doing so, “will” move America forward, when all the votes are counted. And despite appearances’ sake, I know a few Socialists, although somewhat ‘camouflaged’ are wonderful Elected and Appointed Officials.
Regardless, thanks for your comment.

Larue,
California is now “back on top” and your statement is quite true when you say, “As California goes, so goes the nation,” especially when California’s success is Arizona’s ‘cutting edge.” As such, yer draggin’ us forward with you, and thusly, yer to be commended. And that makes for good neighbors.
And with this Holiday Season upon us, my Best Wishes to you and your’s.
Jaango
nonquixote,
Thanks for you comment.
I always find it quite impressive that in today’s acts of ongoing martial violence, that the well-spring of citizenship, has considerable ‘value.’
Your Friend has the traditional “conjones.”
A short sote, back in May of this year, I attended a high school graduation at the august Carl Hayden High School, and found to my delight that a dozen of the graduating class were enlisting in the military. And these were all Dreamers, no less.
Note: Carl Hayden, when he served in the Senate authored the G.I.Bill, and it’s for this reason that I did a story on the Hayden Dreamers.

Dawg help us all we don’t drag us all into detention camps for socialists.
;-)
Larue,
What “detention camps”?
I have maintained from early on or from the early part of January, 2000 (GW Bush Era), that the exotic island resort that is Alcatraz, would be the next detention camp, but I was wrong. GITMO ruined my prognostication. And therefore, I am a humbled Gato Negro.
