A quick plug – come see me at the health care online organizing panel at Netroots Nation at 10:30 am tomorrow. Details:
Health care is turning into one of the biggest legislative fights of 2009. With the history of failed reform efforts haunting us, grassroots groups and coalitions are making sure we don’t get stung by Harry and Louise or the insurance industry this time around. So what are we doing different? One thing is that we’re engaging the grassroots by using technology in innovative ways as an organizing tool for both online and offline activism.
Panelists: Ben Brandzel, Charles Chamberlain, Julia Eisman, Jason Rosenbaum
What else is on your mind tonight, Netroots Nation-related or otherwise?

Not to reopen the pained discussions about the name of this blog, but “seminal watercooler” conjures imagery upon which I wish not to dwell.
I have a devil’s advocate question: Has the die already been cast for the health care bill? Has everyone in Congress already decided how to vote? Is all this debating/shouting on TV and at town halls a bunch of sound and fury, signifying nothing?
That sounds great, Jason, will look in on you. CSpan is carrying much NN,and it’s been great … but altogether too much of the wingnut counter showtime.
Hmm, yes…maybe “the watercooler” might be better.
I think the town halls are a lot of theater – Members of Congress don’t seem to be changing their minds based on their experiences. But their minds are not all made up, and the ground is changing every day.
