Daily HCAN Pusillanimity – 11/03/09
Instead of just bashing HCAN, post a diary or a response that spells out your perspectives regarding HCAN; just blasting them in short snetences does not educate or inform.
I post messages like this mainly to let others know what is happening here. There is no point in debating this person. He is simply a liar who is being paid to co-opt and mislead the health reform movement. The facts have been explained to him time and time again and he cares not one iota.
If anyone doubts that, read this.
I wasn’t asking you to debate Jason, just to share they what and why of your perspective on HCAN.
I read the link and understand others frustrations but calling someone a liar ,without reference to what they have lied about in a specific manner certainly precludes any dialogue.
And BTW, I’m a single payer supporter and think that what the house and senate have passed is bullshit that really doesn’t address the needs of people; I want the ‘progressives’ to defeat the bills, indicating the problems-namely industry influence- with the bills. AND I’m still wondering where the outrage is from ‘progressives/liberals’ over the deals the Obama cut with industry ; there certainly was screaming over Cheney and his secrecy in meeting with energy CEO”s ,etc.
I’m with you, and I disclose where these posts came from, but I also find it’s best not to feed the trolls sometimes.
My perspective is similar to Kip Sullivan’s. See his major pieces for details. The leadership of HCAN, and certainly Rosenbaum, is lying about the “public option.”
I also have my own slightly unique view shaped by putting up with other such people on Daily Kos, which has more of them. Hopefully someday I will have time to expand on this and make it more thorough. The phenomenon of hacks and paid liars masquerading as progressives on the internet is indeed worth writing about–but enough elaboration has been provided for now.
For another example see this.
rather than jumping in with my own opinion, here are some comments and threads off the top of my head you can read, if you like, to assist in forming your own opinion:
