Taking away Obama’s award or awarding Bradley Manning (or both!) would do a great deal to restore credibility to the Nobel Peace Prize process.
The treatment of Bradley Manning is a shameful chapter in history. Just awful.

Will Obama join the heads of states of Nazi Germany and the USSR in putting some kind of external pressure on this potential award? Should Manning be the recipient of the Peace Prize, he would be the first American since Obama to be so honored. Should Manning get it, will he be allowed to go to Oslo to receive the award?
Can you imagine if Julian Assange is on trial in Sweden at the same time that Manning is supposed to pick up his Nobel prize?

That’s wonderful news that should lift his hopes. I hope he wins and I agree with goNPA’s comment that a Manning win coupled with a decision by the Nobel Committee to revoke Obama’s award would be sweet.
I’m half Norwegian. Ms ET is half Icelandic, half Swedish. Between the Icelandic Parliament nominating Manning for the Norwegian prize, and the Swedes trying to grab Assange, we’re a bit conflicted. Ms ET is happy about this, though – very happy:
