The following documentary of modern day Iran offers a rare look at real Iranians. This documentary stands in stark contrast to the Iran being depicted in the MSM. You can watch Iranian news via Presstv.ir, at times it gives some interesting perspectives on mideast issues. It also has about 50 Times the coverage of OWS as the american MSM.
This is one of a kind reporting we should support. Starting off with the snow and the young people, priceless- so is the educational value
The video speaks for irself, my opinion is irrelevant, enjoy some good journalism and check out Press tv or the Jerusalem Post (both in english) they both are very informative

“Don’t tell my mother I am in Iran.”
OK. But if you see a real bright light and the temperature in the shade approaches that of the surface of the sun, you might consider moving.
Doremus, your disdain of others, and mindless “support” of Israeli and American violence, is most tiresome.
That you would “joke” about a nuclear attack on Iran, does not suggest that you’ve much genuine understanding or appreciation of life.
Why is that?

Thank you, jbabe, a most delightful and educational “journey” you have presented us.
Recommended to the joyful attention of everyone at FDL.
This diary deserves to be front-paged!
Iran is its people, the human beings who comprise its society.
They are essentially just like us … as we are like them.
Why, human to human, we just might like each other.

Who’s joking?
I’m just as concerned as are you.
And you were doing just fine until you said “…mindless “support” of Israeli and American violence …”, and “…does not suggest that you’ve much genuine understanding or appreciation of life.”
And for that irresponsible characterization and ad hominem attack I can only reply:
I encourage you to immediately fornicate with yourself until you suffer complete and permanent cardiac arrest.
No, I am being much too diplomatic with you, so let me re-phrase that and bring it down to your level:
Go fuck yourself to death!.
Outstanding video, highly rcc’d thanks for sharing this.
We have neighbors from Iran, they fled in the 90′s to the US due to repression of their freedoms, they remain Islamic and devout, too.
Their son recently joined them. It’s fun to chat with him and the pops . . . in the 70′s and 80′s I worked with a lot of Persians in the hotel and food biz. THEY had come here due to repression and brutality by The Shah.
Irony. US props up Shah, the oppressed flee to US.
Never met ONE Persian who was not civil and happy. Like all people, there were always strong opinions . . . but they preferred being HERE than under the Shah.
Now, our neighbors prefer being here rather than under the Authoritarian Mullahs (yes, as you come down the ladder of mullah hierarchy they tell me, it’s less reactionary, but he leaders are reactionaries).
The visions of Iran the MSM and ill informed forment and feed us as false as the claims of WMD.
Great video, again. THanks.
Ah, wee doremus …
You have fully revealed yourself.
Your own words define you, delimit you, and describe you.
Just finished the vid . . . wow, just wow . . . SOOOO many people in the US need to view this, hope folks will post this to FB and anywhere else and share it.
Great work, the host/producer was incredible.
Quality of this production really, really impresses this ex media dude . . . *bows*
Balderdash!
Sufferin’ dog hairs!!!

Exactly, Larue. We have a pretty sizable contingent of Iranians that live here. I know over a dozen from having played soccer, being teammates with some, being the opponent to others. Some came here before during the Shah’s regime, some came here shortly after the Shah was deposed, some came here years after when Islamic repression became too much. One fellow was from a fairly well-to-do family during the Shah’s reign, and his family lost a lot of property after the Islamic revolution, so I can only surmise that his family may have been one of the more favored during the Shah’s regime. But that is beside the point, he was a friendly and happy to be in the USA, as were all the others I have come in contact with. Ordinary people are the same, the world over. Their dreams, wants, aspirations and needs are the same everywhere.
Through the beautiful game of ‘futbol’ I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet, and play with and against, individuals from Romania, England, Scotland, Bosnia, Germany, France, Japan, Laos, New Guinea, Mexico, and half of the nations in Central and South America. And what I have learned is that people are people, the world over.
Now to watch the video!
You are one sick individual, doremus. And how sad it was that you got a morally principled man like DWBartoo to kinda apologize to you. Srsly; you know no shame.
Words fail me beyond that for now.
