AS the Democrats push forward their right wing agenda, the question must be asked- Who needs Romney?
A list of the Obama/dem agenda:
stay in Iraq, triple the the military in Afghanistan-then stay forever, attack Yemen, destroy Libya, destroy Syria, increase the drone wars, do Africa, massively build=up in the Philippines, doing everything they can to bring on war with Iran, assassinating american citizens, indefinately detaining us citizens,drug war, bankster bail=outs, making sure the that taxes on the rich dont return to their previous rate as mandated by current law, that we must cut SS and medicare so that corporations and military wont be affected, 40 billion a month to the banks via the fed, redo the tax code to “broaden the base”, more powers to the president, no wallstreet prosecutions, prosecute whistleblowers at record rates, ect ect

Glenn Ford from black agenda report is spot on, Obama is the more effective evil because as a democrat the democrat sheople will follow the Sheppard, EVERYTIME.

I admit the thought of President Paul Ryan scared the hell out of me, and I wish that thought had never even entered my mind, so I get voting out of fear, but I don’t get, and never have gotten, how O is the lesser of evil.
Would Romney have tortured us worse after detaining us forever??? Would Romney kick us once or twice before he assassinates us?
And here’s the real kicker,
Would Romney get away with cutting Social Security??? I honestly don’t think so, but admit it very could have happened because both parties are no so in the tank for 1%.

Romney, though he miscalculated in doing so, picked Ryan because he thought it would help him get votes. Not because he was going to turn his presidency over to him.
As to the lesser of two evils thing, I believe Glen Ford is correct. Obama is the more effective evil.
Once you strip away Romney’s electioneering rhetoric and look at his record, you see that he was just another corporatist like Obama, only without the murderous empire-building, fascism, police state building and two-tiered system of justice magnifying heaped on top.
Now, I’ll grant you, that as president, he might have tried to match Obama in those categories, still, there are critical and crucial differences at play that shouldn’t be discounted when tossing around alternate realities.
For one, the Pelosi’s and Durbins of this world would not be actively assisting him.
For another, pundits, unions and organizations would be offering strident and vigorous opposition instead of rallying to support him during election time and in the process letting him know he would not be held accountable no matter what he did.
Lastly, the corporate news would eat up the horse race aspects of it all and there might be more of an honest-to-god liberal slant to the Dem position when played out on the nightly news.
Right now, we have basic two scenarios at work. In one, Obama implements right wing policy under the radar of the average voter and both parties go along. In the other, Obama proposes right wing policy that can’t be hidden so easily, Social security cuts for instance, and then the political theater kicks in with the Dems supporting whatever Obama wants and the Republicans noisily make more demands. Meanwhile, the majority of the electorate gets caught up in the charade and Dem voters end up settling for “it would have been worse if Romney was president”.
It’s hard for me to envision Romney as president, being as successful as Obama at implementing right wing policy.

Please, people, get real. As explained to you several dozen thousand times, slowly, President Obama is a better person, and is therefore more reluctant to do the same things as Romney. Plus, he says it hurts him more than it hurts you 62% more often. So I think your bags are a little too on fire about this, just a tad. I recommend more PragProg in your diet.

You and me? Barack Obama wants us to work harder,longer for less and if we stay alive long enough to collect some portion of the SS we paid in on for decades? This R Lite POTUS — Barack Obama — is now telling us we have not earned that so much either. Obama telling us to buck up and plan on getting less SS payouts while Obama’s flying monkees shovel the trillions of $$ over to Wall St.,Big Banks and Big USian WarMakers.
Staying with the R vs. D junk since 1980 has not worked for 90% of USians — with this D POTUS who admires what Ronald Reagan talked and walked USians are getting a good reveal of the real R vs. D deal.
USians likely are going to have a tough and high attrition fight trying to dislodge the UniParty Rs/Ds from running WashingtonDC. Both the Rs and Ds like the R vs. D game both are playing now and it is plainly evident the 1%/10% are paying both the Rs and Ds off ( and the Rs and Ds are happily taking the payoffs ) to do 1%/10% Win/90% Lose politics.
During the 2012 WH election season it was not difficult here at FDL to be taken to task by some brow beating inclined FDLers for suggesting Radical Ideas about not voting for any Ds — Third Party WH Candidates only being given some Maybe Space AFTER Barack Obama was being given good/better odds to winning the WH again — not voting for Ds evidently was being/doing a bad thing.
