Yesterday was a momentous day for the campaign, as thousands of dollars were raised in a single day by word of mouth and grassroots activists. Dr. Stein’s campaign is on the verge of history becoming the first Green to qualify for matching funds.
Even if your state has qualified, your donations will still qualify for the match; even if your state has not qualified, your donations will still qualify for the match once the threshold is met. It’s a win-win for everyone.
These are the remaining target states:
- Arizona
- Connecticut
- DC
- Florida
- Maine
- Missouri
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
In the wake of the recent Supreme Court decision, single payer advocates, such as Dr. Andy Coates, Katie Robbins, Dr. Margaret Flowers, Mark Dunlea, and Gloria Mattera, are calling for us to support the cause:
URGENT! PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY!
Dear friends working for health care as a human right,
In all the sound and fury over the Supreme Court’s health care ruling, the simple truth is being lost: We know how to provide affordable health care for every American. There is a proven solution — improved “Medicare for All” (or single-payer health insurance). It’s working in nation after nation around the world. It is the only fiscally responsible way out of the health care mess. And it’s not unconstitutional.
When President Obama slammed the door in the face of single-payer health care advocates, and abandoned the “public option”, it seemed that we were doomed to debating slight variations on the failing status quo. But in the wake of the Obamacare/Romneycare crackup, we have an incredible opportunity to reframe the health care debate by injecting a long-time advocate for Medicare-for-All (single-payer) into the presidential dialogue.
Jill Stein, a physician from Massachusetts, has just won 29 state primaries to secure the presidential nomination of the Green Party. She is a powerful voice for universal, affordable health care, and we need to make sure she is heard. Putting her on the ballot will also give millions of Americans the opportunity to go into the voting booth on November 6 and vote for a change in direction instead of more of the same.
But Dr. Stein needs our help. Thanks to an outpouring of support from across the nation, she is within striking distance of qualifying for federal matching funds. She only needs to raise $24,000 more by midnight on June 30. That’s not much money in the big scheme of things. But it will make all the difference in making sure Jill Stein is on the ballot across the nation and can impact the health care debate this fall.
That’s not much money to ask considering all the money we’ve spent trying to get Washington to listen to us. We can do it.
So I’m urging you do two things. First, go to Jill Stein’s website, http://www.jillstein.org/donate, and make a generous donation to her campaign. Second, please forward this email to your friends and networks who care about solving our health care crisis. Spreading this message is critically important.
Dr. Stein will file for matching funds on July 1. Please forward this email and help put her over the top!
Thank you for helping us open up a new dialogue on health care.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andy Coates, national president-elect, Physicians for a National Health Program
Katie Robbins, Healthcare-NOW! Board of Directors
Dr. Margaret Flowers, Physicians for a National Health Program
Mark Dunlea, Single Payer New York
Gloria Mattera, Physicians for a National Health Program

While normally I don’t like money solicitations, this one has the potential to change the conversation from one dominated by the democratic-republican Uniparty and covered by the mainstream 1% media.
Jill Stein offers a much needed alternative view on the constitution, health care, climate change, and many other issues assiduously ignored by the two main parties.

Crossing the 2012 Election Intersection: An Appeal for Election “Parity”
Greetings, All: Sorry — I’m not gonna ask you to vote for Jill Stein or contribute to her campaign. I don’t go to that place — that’s up to you to decide. What I will point out, however — something I just learned myself — is that TMK, and via everything I’ve read thus far, we DO have a viable “four-way” 2012 U.S. presidential race shaping up. Reportedly, Gary Johnson, the 2012 Libertarian candidate is making a serious bid and is poised to make an impact amongst the um, “more adventurous and/or frustrated” voters both inside and outside the mainstream Republican party.
However, of the four, Stein and the Greens are not quite yet “at parity”; they are lagging a bit behind in funding, they have yet to select a proper running mate (I hope it’s someone good and YES – I dare say it – “progressive” from labor — any suggestions out there, anyone?)
This is how I see it — wouldn’t a real, honest-to-goodness “four-way” election be nice for a change? Think of it — something and/or someone for (almost) every duly-registered U.S. citizen-voter (hey — almost like a REAL free voter’s market should be, correct?…roll over, AynRandHand). Plus, a minimum of worries rife with oft-venomous invective over vote-swapping and spoiling — no blantantly Maheresque joke fodder over which side is least able to pick their opponents’ left nostril while slinging it out with a provocatively-loaded right nostril — ahhh, how refreshing for a change.
I say that if we must bear more Wars of the Genetically Altered Roses, let us ditch the War and keep our respective, collective nostrils to the business they presently are best adapted to. Especially if doing so means that “Ohbamaromna” will suffer where it most hurts. Agreed?
Cool. Recommended.
